Went for a nice ride today but on my way back I heard a cracking, exhaust noise. One of the studs on my front header clamp had broken and the other was loose. Have to pull the header now and see if there is enough stud sticking out to get at or if easy outs will be required. Crap.

Outdors:

"i" have found that a reverse flute drill works best for me to extract studs ...

Although "i" have never broken a exhaust stud in the 108K PLUS miles that "i" have on my BUELL, it can be a very trying experience ...

MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!!

I'm not saying that using an easy out is a bad thing, but I'd not use one for a busted exhaust stud. My experience is that the easy out is much harder to drill out, after it's broke off in the hole, than the original stud. Been there.

Drop the pipe, get the JIMS tool, a really good bit(s,) and drill it out.
