I have been seeing alot of stuff on here about peoples rear shocks leaking. My question is, how do I really know if my rear shock is leaking. What are some of the signs that I have a problem with my rear shock. Thanks for any info you can give me. Matt Tully

Is it bouncy as hell, do you feel your rear fender bottom out. Is there oil leaking out of the shock body. If any of these symptoms are present then you have a blown shock.

Mine just started as a little drop at the rear of the shock. I thought it was an engine oil leak at first. Then it started to leave stains around the holes on the rear of the shock. Then the bouncing started. I bought a new shock off Ebay a while ago and it's on the bike now. I'm going to send mine to Race Tech to get rebuilt to have for a spare.

X1, no, mine is not having any of those problems. I guess it is just set up a little soft. Its not leaking or bottoming out or anything like that. So I guess it is good then.

5liter, how much is going to cost you to have Race Tech rebuild the shock????

Yes Jim,

This shock is rebuildable. The labor is a flat $105, $15 for fresh fluid, and anywhere from $12-$51 on parts that might be needed.
