Nice! Cool colors, black and orange. Interesting mod to keep the stock airbox in place. Should be a fun project, going back to stock or continue the custom work in a more Buell friendly manner perhaps? Vent the tranny breather directly over the rear tire?!?!?! Seems like a bad idea to me. Or is it just the camera angle making it look like that? |

I like the frame color. Never seen that on an x1 before. Is that blazing orange? |

I love the breather vented right on the tire. I mean, there's some dumb mods on that bike, but that one pretty much says it all. |

I think I'm alone here, but if the cuts were a little cleaner I think the airbox mod looks alright. It's different, and I've tried doing something similar before. I wanted a scoop that would match the left side, and with a big enough hole for the forcewinder to fit through. I still have the results of that experiment sitting in the garage and they are hideous! |

I still have the results of that experiment sitting in the garage and they are hideous! Thats the diff, interested and tried as an experiment, they are sitting in the garage because you thought they were hideous, Spidy nailed it, check out the second pic, that tube is orange out board, and nuke blue inboard. Dsmitty, you have performed a "rescue" kool, I look forward to seeing the results. |

ah ok I see it now, the nuke blue is still visible under the oil tank. That's kinda redneck (no offense to you Appalachian-Americans) On the bright side, that's the only X1 I've seen that would match the blazing orange piping on my select seat. Why an X1-specific part was manufactured in a color that doesn't match any other colors ever offered on the X1 is beyond me.. |

She been abused. For sure a rescue! The frame was spray bombed for sure... the wires and lines all had over spray on them.. was nuke blue. but i do like the orange I'll prob redo it this winter and keep it the same. but not sure what the color is tho. like it to match the orange on the air box and front fender the whole undertail well lack of undertail i should say guess the seat was covered in oil. I've already redone that, went wit a catch can routed infront of the front sproket ran down the oil lines under the bike. As for the air box THATS CRAZY! the econo winder is a auto zone special and a bad one. replaced it with a forcewinder. Ya'll didn't notice the cookie sheets for sproket cover and battery cover haha. And the HD belt buckle on the swingarm brace CRAZY! Il get some more pics up of the progress so far 2nite. It won't be the same bike after this winter, but for now just goin to get her ready for the road. |
