picked up my new x1 on sat and trailered her home . went out to go for my first run on her sunday and got 2 meters before she dropped to one cylinder and the engine managment light came on heres my question do i get them to fix her or do i ask for my money back as this aint a great start to a life together ? chris | ||

done that already as this is my second x1 the last one tryed to kill me lol . she is coming up with prob code 14 temp sender and 23 front injector its more the dealers that have pissed me off as i owned the bike for less than 16 hour and it goes crap when their tec guys said it was sweet as a nut | ||

As always, it could be informative to check your battery voltage, and the condition and tightness of the battery cables. Fuel injection systems can be sensitive to low voltage. Good information to have when you take it back. | ||

My front injector tripped a code on me at 35K miles. The wire had chafed to ground. Fixed with shrink tube and moving the harness a small amount. The same happened to me with the temp sensor too: it wasn't throwing a code though. It was just giving bad info to the computer, making it shut down. Fixing these issues would most likely be easy but they should not be your problems to solve. I would try to shove the bike up your seller's ass if it didn't even let you run it for a tank of gas. | ||

just noticed if i remove the oil breather pipe off the snorkel in the standard air box is their meant to be air pushing out of the breather tube seems to be a good bit of air being forced threw ? cheers for all the help so far people | ||

If I think I understand what I thought you meant about what you just said....... LOL, just want to make sure I understand the question. If you mean the crankcase breather tube(s) from the head to the breather box, yeah, they do pump a lot of air. After all, the crankcase volume changes by 1203cc every time the crank rotates 360deg. A common mod here to keep spooge out of the airbox is to install XB rocker covers. | ||

Or you can just install a catch can with a small air filter on top to let it breath to atmosphere instead of back in the motor. Search for catch cans on here. It will breathe quite a bit of air. | ||

well i got the x1 back from the dealer on tuesday and now it has a oil leak just where the oil pipe returnes to the oil pipe drive gear . im thinking about getting rid of the bike ie telling the dealer to poke it and get my cash back and go looking for another x1 any thoughts |
