Any chance of starting up a X1 thread like there is for the M2 and S2?

There's been talk and a valid reason why not...
Does it matter though really?

I post something in the Cyclone thread, it gets less views and replies...I think it's just fine the way it is because I would be less likely to check the X1 area just like those who don't have an M2 don't typically check out the M2 area.

Plus, I think it was the fact that the X1 was a child of the S1 yadda yadda...someone will remember the rest and why.

All of them are so similar the division only reduces your chances of getting an answer to your question.

I don't look in the M2 area very often. Every time I do I find something that I can help with...and my S1 was made before there ever was an M2.

Sometimes I search the M2 or S2 section and find an answer before I need to post a question. Not everyone would do that because it's not the specific bike.

Get your own area if you want but it's not like there are so many threads in a day that it would be a benefit...Just less action

Funny how it's the non X1 owners that have something to say against it.

I never said anything against it...I'm just pointing out the facts from posting in the M2 thread about bike conerns/problems that are common to all bikes.

Anyways, I also stated what I had read in a thread like this when the other two subforums were made...Just sayin'

two subforums make sense to me, but not S2 and M2 topics. I'm surprised to not see it split between FI and non-FI tubers.

I look at the M2 forum from time to time and Wilson's right - it doesn't see much traffic. Unless the main Old School board gets really busy I don't see a need for more subforums.

No, its more of a pain in the butt as it is right now i think, m2 forum doesnt get much traffic at all and i dont even visit the s2 forum. And i wouldnt ever visit the x1 forum.

Its far easier and youll reach a broader audience if you just post your threads in the main oldsckool area.

I think Pkforbes87 has got a pretty good point. X2 on FI and non-FI tuber subforums.

There were only 10 posts in all of the Oldskool section yesterday and only 6 the day before. It doesn't take long to look through.

The M2 section had 2 posts. I bet there are more posts by M2 guys in the main Oldskool forum than in their lonely VIP section.

If you just had an X1 section it would be a lonely place too. It would limit a noob getting an answer if they searched so you would get alot of reposted questions.

Between an S1, M2 and X1 the bikes are 90% the same components.

Should I look in only the S1 section (hopefully there is never one) to learn about plugs, wheels, shocks, controls, primary adjustment, belts, pistons, heads, motor mounts, motor internals, ignitions, brakes, torque settings, how about a trans question?

Ok so you shouldn't look in the S1 section if you have a question about your FI or rear subframe.

I now officially boycott all subsections and will only help in Oldskool (not really).

I don't intend on being negative but until there are 50+ posts to cruise through daily I don't see any benefit. It's a small enough community. Let's not make it smaller.

Maybe you can help me understand why you think it would help.

if you have a question about your FI or rear subframe... then you should technically post that question in the knowledge vault, not the old school board or any of it's sub-forums.

It's fine the way it is IMO - the badweb mods don't say anything about knowledge vault questions being asked on the era-specific boards, so why should we as users bother them with adding a subforum that in all reality won't increase the efficiency of the forum.

Just an idea, and let me say first that I don't think this is really NEEDED enough for badweb mods or admins to bother with it, - but I see the sub-forums being more useful if they were set up as view-only boards and mods could move common topics to them as sort of "stickys" Since joining badweb a couple years ago I see the same topics and questions pop up on a regular basis which really isn't a problem - but if there were model-specific subforums which sticky those common topics, then it would prevent some of those repeated questions.
Yeah I know we have the search function - but it's some times hard to find what you're looking for.

speaking of topics posted in the wrong board - I think this should be in "suggestions for a better badweb" : p

I see your points. It was merely an inquiry, and now I wish there weren't any subforums. I guess I missed the last argument about this same subject.

My thing on it is more that I don't understand why there are any sub-sections. I mean if they are warranted for M2s then why not X1s? I am not saying I want it I just don't understand the logic

I can understand the S2 section. How many factory S2 pieces were on the later Buells? The answer is not many...

"I am not saying I want it I just don't understand the logic"

That's the point. There was no logic other than...people requested it and the mods did what they wanted. Are the M2 owners better off or more isolated and left to themselves now?

How many of you X1 owners search the M2 file before posting something here? I bet there is a ton of info in there that would help you. IDK.

I understand XBs and 1125s in their own forum. Not much on my bike compares to those.

I just see No need to separate the tubers IMHO.

Buell Old School models include:
