It's time to assemble the rear wheel to the swingarm in the S2. It wasn't assembled when I picked up the bike, and the parts manual only shows a bolt that goes through the caliper and into the slot in the swingarm to hold the bracket in place. There's not a pic with both the caliper bracket and the swingarm. It seems like there should be something more than a bare bolt against the slot. Am I making it too hard or is there something that mounts to the bolt. | ||

One bolt to the slot, main caliper location is axle-thru-big-hole. Bolt to the slot is only for anti-rotation of the caliper. I'd have to go out and look, but IIRC, the bolt *head* is what goes into the slot, not the threaded end...if there's a choice. I've never pulled that bolt out, so I don't remember at the moment. | ||

Thanks, guys! I've got a bolt that's the correct thread, but too long. Another trip to the hardware store and I'll at least have that segment assembled. Hey Rat, My parts book doesn't break out the parts for the rear caliper. It shows a kit #44149-94Y, but the previous owner has crossed that out and labeled the part as bleeder fitting. I've struck out getting parts to rebuild mine - should have come to you first. Can you dig up the part numbers and parts for the two dust boots and the O-ring? Thanks! | ||

You want to use a cap screw. I don't know what size but this is what it looks like. It will hold the brake from moving forward and not chew up the swingarm. http://littlemachineshop.com/Products/Images/480/4 80.1527.jpg |
