I think I read somewhere that there is a 'race ecm' for the old carb model tubers, in my case S1. Is this true, and if so, what the hell does it control that makes it worth installing over the stocker. I have the race air cleaner and aftermarket exhaust. thanks in advance

Lets the motor rev a bit harder .
Get a single fire ignition , does the same thing
but the motor runs smoother and starts easier
specially when cold.

The race ignition box changes the advance curve, and ups the rev limit. Jets / breathing mods to match, and it'll be a serious performer for very little $. Single fire is a way to go, but a little more labor intensive. Same result, different approaches.

rat, with the race ignition box would I need to install a new coil as well (like the single fire) or is it plug and play? Are they still around?
