I was wondering if any one in here is in the Patriot Guard.
If so, have you mounted a flag to your Buell...

I have seen a few options with little 4x6 inch mountings to the license plate holder.

I would like to mount a larger flag then that...

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Dennis - I am also a PGR rider. I mainly used my Duce for the big flags. We did have one member who made a mount on his honda for big flags. He used the rear rider foot peg mounts. It was kind of like an extra long hollow foot peg which the flag poles slid into. I personally only fly the big flags when the PGR really needs it. They just seem to catch the wind to easily and makes the bike feel very unstable.

Thanks for your support in the PGR.

Tom,
PGR is awesome,
I rode my 1st mission this last week for;" CWO2 Ricky Richardson".
What an honor.
It won't be my last..

Yes I bet them really big flags would be impossible to fly on a Buell as lite as they are. I bet they would be a handful mounted to a pick-up truck.

My gosh some of them guys had 3 very large flags mounted to their bikes

I would like to fly a single flag mounted some how behind the seat to the bikes frame and fly a fairly good size flag, but not real big..Something safe.

Thank you Tom for your support in the PGR also and your reply to my question.

The setup I mentioned should work fine for smaller flags. I think what he did was weld a tube on to the foot peg and some how locked the foot peg in the up position. Then just slide a flag pole into the pipe. I would think you will need to find a way to bolt the flag pole to the pipe so that it won't fall out.

When I do ride the X1 to do a PGR ride. I put a cut down static cling windshield banner on my windscreen. I have to use some clear tape around the edges to keep it from blowing off, but it works fine.

Just be sure to remove the flag for anything above 'parade speed' - Pretty sure proper flag etiquette is not to subject Old Glory to inclement weather. The gale-force winds of a bike at speed (at least the speeds I know most of us Buellers tend to go!) would come under that heading.

It really chaps my posterior when I see bikes and cars wailing down the interstate flying a flag that's thrashed from the wind.
I'm sure they feel all patriotic, but in actuality they are abusing our pennant.

-that's how I feel about it, for what that's worth.

Yes I agree with AL, I don't want to leave Old Glory on my bike all the time.
But I do want a solid mounting.

Man it tore me up to see the couple flags hit the pavement...
If I was more graceful I'd swooped down and snatched them up.
