I am really considering getting a Harley Big Bore Air Intake for my 01' X1. I was wondering if anyone had one on their bike and what you thought about it. For the money, I just dont think that I could go wrong. So let me know what you guys think.

That's the same intake I recommended in the other thread. You can get it with no offset, 2" forward offset, or slanted S2 style.

I run the hbbi, it works fine and is half the price of a force.

Guell, so you have it on your bike. How is the install on it, does it just mount straight up, no drilling holes or anything. How is the performance, good i hope. And I am 5'11, will my knee hit it. Thanks for any info you can give me. Matt Tully

Let me see if i can upload some pics for yall, performance is great, its bigger than a force so it should flow more, my knee doesnt hit.

Installation is straitforward, no cutting required, the instructions are a little confusing, but if you know your way arround the bike its a peice of cake.

...and if it looks too big, powdercoat it black...

We get good numbers out of 'em on HDs on the dyno. It's a good performer.

the price on those things is right!

and im sure they work well

they just attract all your attention to the air filter and not the rest of the bike. i had one and rode with it once......in my opinion nothing fits a tuber better than the airtech fiberglass intake that fits inside the frame rails!

Matt, The one you need is the F.I. Buell intake. The carb one will also work but you will either have to drill a hole for the IAT sensor or relocate it.

It is almost half the price of a Forcewinder...
Seems like a good deal to me.

It is the intake for the s1 on airtechs site. if you look closely at my picture you can see the grommet for the iat sensor and i pretty much just have it laying inside the cover, eventually i will pop a hole in the backing plate....works perfectly now
