has anybody done this? mounted clipons with the manta tank. also how does the xb front end work with the manta tank. is there clearance issues with the top triples? just food for thought. i get bored at work and drum up all kinds of ideas for mods. |

hey dont be trying to steal the idea I had in my head. I was going to finish making my bike more of a xb/tuber half bread, with xb forks, brakes and wheels to match my firebolt front end. |

I have bought about half of the parts already I am trying to decide on the top clamp though but I would rather a top clamp that uses regular bars though so I can keep the bars and set up I have already. |

i got crossroads style clip on my 02 X1 (manta tank)... works out pretty well. they have to be a lil wide to make them fit with the tank but i'm a big guy with broad shoulders so it fits me just right. |

but I don't think any one has done it with the combination of my firebolt faring that I already have on my bike. Besides I was just screwing with him because we rode together before I deployed |

texas, i have "crossroads" on my bike now. but i was asking about TRUE clip ons for many reasons. not going to explain thanks though. DJ, as long as you dont use the black and red scheme that i have planned there will be no problems. OHHHH AND the turbo setup i am trying to get started also will set us WAY APART. LITERALlY.

I had the Crossroads bars with the Manta tank and it fit fine. I went to a set of Vortex clipons when I took the bike off the street, and found that I wouldn't get the bar angle I wanted with the Manta tank, so I got an older 3 gallon tank to use with the bars. I am much happier now. 5 gallons was total overkill for my bike anyway. |

Hey Firebolt if you swap out your front forks for the XB forks does that mean you will no longer be needing the bracket that you are currently using to mount that firebolt front on the M2 forks?? |

His mount is to the frame, i think he would still need it actually. |

Yea the firebolt front end and mount will not change I will just be adding the forks, front wheel and brakes to match as well as the back wheel. That bracket would not be hard to fab though. all you need is two rectangle pieces of metal like a bed frame or something to that effect. |

DID YOU JUST SAY A BED FRAME????? |

yea a bed fame frame would be perfect to cut up to make the adapter for the firebolt front end. |

Couldn't you use Helibar Risers for this application? |

DJ is talking about the bracket to mount the firebolt front end on the cyclone frame. cause it already has the gussets welded to the frame( same as the S3) i believe, |

shadowracer was talking about using the helibars for you so that you can clear the tank better than using the stock firebolt triple clamp |

texas, i have "crossroads" on my bike now. but i was asking about TRUE clip ons for many reasons. not going to explain thanks though. no problem. So you're doing the kind that literally clip onto each fork tube between the triples?... NICE! get ready for some back/shoulder/wrist pain! LOL |

not really pain in the back wrist or shoulder cause this setup will only be ran at the track and you really use your legs ALOT so its just for like a ONE DAY in a while thing. |
