i made up my very own buell owners club on buell.com the other day since there was no representation at all for nevada. (i live in reno) the funny thing was that i wasnt intending to do so.. i really wanted to just check and see if there was one i didnt know about; but then got mad that there wasnt one, so i made my own dammit!! soooo... next step is recruitment! anyone anyone?? | ||

Pizzaboy, Sorry I did'nt hear from you sooner. I just purchased a S3T from Reno, and put it on a truck bound for New Orleans. If you'll let my bike join, I'll be a member. we have a club here called "The Irish Channel Buffet Racers" (ICBR.BIZ)we are an all inclusive urban MC with focus on riding, you can be on our rolls and act as the Reno Chapter Liaison Officer. | ||

Tony, good luck with your new group. A good way to get started is to start a forum thread for your group in the Storm Front Section and ask a moderator for help. They can and will set you up. After that is done you can always send another email to Buell to have the link added. Some ideas for recruitment are as follows: Use craigslist in the motorcycle section. Have calling cards with email or URL ready to hand out to other Buellers you see. See if the local HD/Buell dealer will let you set flyers out or maybe an aftermarket shop that services Buells You can also use Yahoo groups if you do not want to use the badweb Storm Fronts. Catchy name or patch helps as well. Once you get the people you will have other issues. Everyone wants to ride but very few are willing to organize a ride. Set goals for the group (ie. one ride a month / general get togethers / host an area Buell Rally in NV (very cool) and so forth. Good luck. Frank (Message edited by f_skinner on June 10, 2009) |
