I have been visiting my brother in San Jose for the past couple of weeks and I envy those of you who live in this area.
Great weather, great roads, beautiful scenery...
We drove down to LA and back and I really wished I was riding my bike. Open roads, less aggressive drivers (of course compared to NJ).
You guys have it great out here...
Enjoy.

Best thing I ever did was pack up out of dreary old buffalo and head for New Mexico.

I think this is the greatest place in the world, unfortunately millions of others think the same way.

That's funny - I left San Jose because it turned into a concrete jungle, smog and traffic congestion everywhere. And you can't afford to raise a family in a decent neighborhood!

To each their own...

I suppose it is all relative....and I am sure the roads gets nicer as you move further away from the city.
I just wished we had more nice days on the east coast...

You ought to see Oklahoma!

Nowhere else in the country can you buy a 3bed, 2bath, 1500sqft home in a decent neighborhood for $90k.

BUT the only curves in the whole damn state are on/off ramps.

I went to school in Austin back in the seventies and loved that area. Nice blend of curvy and open roads. The good thing is though I didn't have a bike back then...I would have not made it in one piece if I had one...Too much on my "mind"...

Appalachia, you know, Kentucky or West virginia have great twisting roads. If you stop somewhere and you here banjo music get back on the bike and ride like you stole it.

I hope you traveled PCH one of the ways between LA and San Jose, it's one of the most beautiful drives anywhere. The other thing about riding in CA is legal lane splitting.

There is a lot of states where you can get a big house with land for a very reasonable price but then you have to consider weather, income, resale. Everywhere has it's good points and it's bad. I think we have it pretty good here in California for year around riding except that there are a lot of other people out on the roads as well. I like it anyway.
