Guys since I've got the M2 back together after my lowside this spring I have noticed a vibration that was not there last year in the 3000 to 3500 rpm range. In the 3500 to 4000 range the bike is very smooth and the vibes are most noticeable when you slow down in 4th or 5th from 4 grand to 3500 rpm. It was a low speed lowside and only cosmetic damage. I painted the plastics and fixed the shifter and replaced the front ISO while I had the plastic off. The lowside occurred on my maiden ride this year and I can't recall if the vibes were there before the accident or on the ride home from the accident for that matter. Any ideas where I should start looking for a solution?

Check your FRONT ISOLATOR(motor mount) ...

Buellistic, that's the 1st thing I did, looks fine to me ( not that Im an expert) and I rechecked how I installed it. I know I torqued everything to spec when I replaced it. The bike is an 02 but it only has 18000 miles on it I was surprised to have found the original front ISO to be bad in the first place. Do you suppose I should have replaced the rear ones as well? Carb is my next strongest suspect.

Check all exhaust tract connections and supports/clamps/bracketry.

Thank for the info guys. Ive spent the morning reading through every thread I could find with the word "vibrations" in it. (good thing this is a Buell Forum) I did have the exhaust off to weld the rear bracket( common with V&H from what I hear) and change the Primary fluid. I'll go over all the mounts tonight when I get home from work. Based on today's reading I'll check belt tension and primary chain tension for good measure as well. I never would have guessed an Exhaust would cause vibration like that. Thanks again.

Well Buellistic once again you are right on the Money! I had checked for a horizontal tear along the front bottom where the original failed. Tonight I took a second more careful look and its torn right down the middle around the back of the bolt. That frigging thing barely has 2 tanks of gas on it!!!! after reading Oldog's recent ISO thread I'm pissed. What ISO do I get now? That one was the Buell OEM replacement. How are the guys who tried the Drag Specialties one doing??

I have the Drag Specialties one on my S1. It transmits a little more vibration below 3K RPM but that is a trade off on what is reported to be a longer service interval.

I just got the drag specialties one here now. I just bought it along with both rear iso's and having JTS do the work while they have it.

After about 800 miles on the Drag Specialties isolator, it seems to be somewhat smoother than when first installed, but still transmits more vibration than the stock. Hope there is another alternative someday for the isolator.

Do it yourself. It's not that big a job. Just be careful how you support the motor.
