broke 2 of the swingarm mount ears off. Really don't want to get into how that happend so lets just move on ); Anyway what is the best way too weld them back on?(anybody with personal experiance or expertise) wire feed with handgun, mig or any other thoughts? | ||

I'm curious.. I've seen the front shock mount cracking/breaking on the case, but never the swingarm mount. | ||

those cases are cast aluminum. good luck welding it with any process. there are so many impurities in cast aluminum. it makes it difficult to weld NOT IMPOSSIBLE, just difficult | ||

I had one of the tabs break off and welded back no problem. I had an extra swing arm mount so I bolted that back to the case so it was lined up and gave the welder a sort of Jig. I still need to send my case to Ramsey to get welded, Mine cracked at the shock mount due to minivan-enimatius | ||

price for the welding might be just as much as a used mount.....i would look into ebay | ||

Yeah a used mount, but if he broke the tabs off the engine side like I did... | ||
