If you don't use the front mount, you'll:

A)rip off all the exhaust studs
B)break all the mounts/clamps
C)vibrate clamp from muffler to header loose causing muffler to fall, resulting in a pogo effect flipping you off of the bike.
D)nothing happens, but the chance of all of the above and more is increased by one million percent.

Short answer:
Yes

Yes. I have the D&D slip-on and the front muffler mount is offset for the updated "Y" mount. You might be able to use a long spacer and the old mount but trust me it won't last. There is a vendor on ebay selling the D&D slip-on for like $75 cheaper than I bought mine for. Also you can call American Sport Bike directly and just get the mount only. It's not listed but they have them separately.

I bought one from the vendor on ebay, shipping was fast and the muffler was still in D&D's packaging so they are legit.

I get a chub every time my D&D sets off a car alarm.

This is the perfect muffler if you want loud, considering the only louder option for tubers is known for breaking all the time.

Pk's right it is one of the loudest. The only thing louder I have heard was no muffler.

LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES!

The D&D does not require repacking. It doesn't use fiber fill. I don't even think there is a way to take it apart except for cutting the welds. It's a great LOUD exhaust. My only gripe it that it weighs a ton!

D&D has a cap in the rear that's held in by a set screw on the bottom and a tack weld on the top, but I've been riding with mine for a little over 10k miles and don't hear any difference or feel a change in performance from when it was new. The Vance & Hines I replaced really showed a difference after 5000 or so miles when it needed repacked.

nope. the blackberry is not exactly up to par lately. Always shows an hour glass icon and lags horribly. It takes 2-3 minutes just to place a call.

Speaking of mounting the D&D - Mine came from the States with the wrong size elbow to fit the stock headers and I had to have a)The header end reduced by a half inch and, b)The muffler end lengthened by 2.5 inches.

It's all good now but it was a setback nonetheless!

Looks Great and LOUD!!!

Love my D&D.......
