Has anyone here figured out a way to add to an s2, some highway pegs out front for the long slab hauls?

Dude! That's like blasphemy. What is next floor boards? LOL

I'll use the passenger pegs as another position to relieve some of that long straight road pain.

Yeah I use the passenger pegs, but after 7 or 8 hours of long haul I need to stretch my legs out in front. Can't hold them there very long at highway speeds. Old knees ya know. Just thought someone may have figured out a way to bolt some simple pegs to the front of the engine. On my s3 I would sometimes swing my legs up onto the gas tank for a while, don't want to try that with the s2. Try as I might to only ride twisty roads, in the west you inevitably get stuck on a long straight stretch.

I've seen forward pegs on a strut added to the front motor mount hangar on a S3 in the SoCal region. It can be done tastefully and be unobtrusive as well. Sorry, I don't have pix to back this up, but it's out there.

Shane:When I bought S2T new,1999 my right hip was shot.I used foreword peg, home made.used 1 1/2" channel steel with rubber peg covers. It helped a lot + had to cut-off lower leg sheilds ,feet got hung up in them.2000 had hip replacement.4 weeks later never needed forewords again! fasten channel to lower header clamp front eng. and front shock use existing eng for bolt-up also need weld tab to bolt up on 1 side.It works Knee hip replacement works much better! Will try to find pics.Butch

When I need to stretch my legs, I either use the passenger pegs or I jump up and sit on the tank. I've ridden mine 15+hours in one day. But I'm nimble and 23.

When I start riding it again I'll get you a pic. My bike is down for repairs/mods for probably another 3 months. Ironically I don't ride as much in the spring/summer as I do in the fall/winter.

If you have a short inseam like me, you can just hang your legs and let them dangle..
However, it doesn't work too well in corners.....

So, I mounted a set of forward pegs using Sportster mounts. I drilled the shock mount plate on the right side and the muffler mount on the left side. Hopefully the extra mass won't cause problems with the muffler mount. I test rode and they will clear the pavement in all but the most aggressive cornering, and they are easy to fold up. Should help me on the long straight stretches. If it's not your cup of tea don't drink it.

I would have to say that is well done. I can understand the want / need for something like that.
(edit: Right leg may get warm.)

I've wished for the same thing on my X1 before.

I love the way those were installed - very clean.

warm... hmm, more like toasty. That's why I took and used the longer billet pegs, so I can slide my foot outward away from the pipes. At highway speed it's not too bad, not any worse than the heat on my thigh. The Sportster mounting bars are different lengths to compensate for the offset, that's why I used them.

Touché, I owe you a drink. Nice to se someone really modify an S2, rather than mutate it. (Think the S3T may have won me over though.)
