I have a 99-00 X1. The stock rear tire size is 170/60 ZR 17. I'm looking at cycle gears deal on Pirelli Diablo supersport tires at 180/55 ZR 17 for the rear. Does anyone know if this will fit on my bike? It seems like a great deal if anyone wants to check it out. http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=& item=CGC_1430000_cmbo_pkg_G

yep a 180/55 fits no problem. I ran the 180/55 scorpion syncs on my 00 X1 before and loved them.

IIRC the PM wheels are a little bit wider than the cast aluminum but I'm not sure how that affects the recommended tire size.

Matrim - Check out this web page. Good info on running a tire too big for the rim. You won't gain any width.

I ordered mine Matrim... That has to be the best deal on a set of tires I have ever seen My tires are original 2002 w/ 9000 miles. So I'm not rolling the dice when I can buy tires that cheap.

I just bought a replacement Pilot Power for my S1 rear. My understanding is that the Diablo is a comparable sport tire. At that price its almost worth it to buy a set for a spare.

Yea, my tires are 8 years old so I reserved some at my local cycle gear. Can't wait for the 16th. I hope these work well with my bike.

Thanks for posting this, Matrim. I bought a set of these last year, I'm just at 10K miles on them, rear is about gone.
Great tires, just ordered a new set from Cycle Gear.

btw, if your tires are 8 years old, get them replaced ASAP! :-)

Watch out if you are in a hurry. I ordered a set from them a while back. Great price. They said one week.
4 weeks later still not in. I went and got my money back.
