two broke cables in two months on my s1 any thoughts thanks.

You need to keep from pinching them. When I install a new one, I loosen the axle nut so the speedo sender can rotate around freely (keep the tab in the notch in the wheel). Hook up the cable at both ends, make sure it's routed properly. Get on the bike and compress/release the front suspension a couple times, the cable will align the sender so there's no pinch or tight bend in it. Retorque your axle nut and pinchbolts.

If you made changes to the instrument position you may need to get a longer cable. One from a Sportster will work fine. This happened to me when I changed the position that my gauges are mounted

yea thats the problem i switched the gauges on the bracket i put the spedo on top, in the act of switchem back right now.

If you like the speedo where it is just get a cable that is 1-2" longer. My gauges were flat mounted to the top tree to clear a very low windshield on the body kit. When I went to the stock mount I needed one 2" longer. My original cable snapped 1" from the back of the speedo
