Just finished up and ready for the summer. (Yeah like I'll ever be finished fixing her up!)

This is last year.

Very nice!

Can't say that I like the air cleaner, but to each his own!

What muffler is that on your "Then" look???

I'm curious.

Wow that is totally awesome. Not so much on your air filter cover reminds me of a HD.
Good job!

Now you need a air horn to scare cagers

The air cleaner was free. It was one I had laying around from my sportster that I sold last year. I like the Forcewinder but will be moving to Orlando in June. I know I will be riding in rain and the Force sucks in the rain, so as for now this will be it till I can afford a CF hamcan. I am done with polishing for now. After that tail section I thought my arms were going to fall off!!!

Nutz - The old exhaust is the first gen D&D slipon. It's a megaphone style. I had problems with the front bracket cracking b4 I updated to the new hanger. It just wasn't that good a fit on the bike, the end of it would hit the kickstand and caused a gouge in the exhaust. I am thinking of welding it back up and selling it. But not sure since you can't find that exhaust any more.

Someone sell me a select seat please!!!

Looks great. I like the S and S teardrop air cover. It looks like a well taken care of bike. I am not a fan of X1s but I like yours. Good job.

Great looking bike! Do you have anything under the subframe to keep water/debris out of the fuse box?

Your upper and lower belt guards caught my attention.. Where did you get them, or did you make them?

PK - I did make my own underseat panel. I used some 1/16 aluminum. Had some left over so I made the belt guards. Here are some pic of those. I can scan the templates I made of the belt guards if you want them. They were pretty easy to make but a pain to polish!

I like it a lot.
Honestly, if I could swing the $, my bike would look a lot like yours. Except, I do like the rear hugger (slightly trimmed) but I am in a minority there...
Ride safe.

nice looking x1. as far as using the force down here. just as long as you have the sock, it isn't that big of a deal. i haven't had any problem with the way it ran after getting caught in the rain.

Oldog - I sure do. Here's some pictures with the blue body work on her. (From what I can find looks like he dropped the bike.) The prev owner had it custom painted to this metallic blue color. The original paint on this body work was yellow. You had mentioned you had your dealer find you a seat. I checked with IL HD and they told me there was none left in any color, this was in November. Can you please send me contact info on your dealer and who to talk to?

the dealers are supposed to be able to check via HD net of all other dealers

My local parts guy found the new one with blue streak piping, in Mississippi

I have beat up one that is thread bare
and in poor condition wanna trade?
Body Work for the old seat?

[ my original plan was to have an uppolstery shop disassemble the seat and duplicate it sans the embroidered logo.]

that custom seat spoils the lines but it is super comfey

My local dealer is Carolina Coast HD
phone is 910 791 9997
Ask for TJ or Keith

Nice job on the under tail. I'm about to do the same with mine. Where'd you end it on the tail? Flush with the license bracket?

Oldog - Thanks for getting me the info. I talked to Keith and he was able to find me a seat with orange piping in Ky. It turns out that there are only 4 seats left in all of the US. Sorry but the blue body work is not for sale or trade. I really like the custom color and will keep it over the onxy body work.

Blk&Chrome - I notched the under tail to go into the area between the turn signals and tail light. When I get back home tomorrow I'll try to get a pic of it for you. You have to bend the metal in order to run the wires into that area.

Thanks everyone for all the great comments. It's compliments like this that makes all that hard work and skinned knuckles worth it.

Glad that you got one TD,

Wanna trade a tired custom seat for the onyx body work? JK

I can't believe that I got my new one, its sad that they dont make the accessories any more, PM wheels, the custom seat, ceramic coated headers, etc, Just a few every year just a few these bikes are old and not that numerous but still, ever feel like a red head step child?

I admire you guys who polish and doll them up, me I just want to ride mine.

BLK&Chrome - Here is a pic of the under tail I made. It's hard to tell in the pic but you have to bend it so that it clears the tail light bolts and wires.

Jim - Instead of admire you should laugh at us. It's turning into an addiction. Last night at my girl's house I spent hours looking at pictures of the bike trying to see what could be polished up next. I think I am done for the time being. Just need to wrap the exhaust and ride it. Thanks again for the hook-up on the seat. Now there are only 3 left in the US and they are either yellow or orange.

I am going to re do the tail closure later this year to like yours it looks good.

One thing that is a waste of time and money
I had my Pm's powder coated they have grey patches on them now so they have to be stripped.

The air here has messed up the nuke blue on my frame, so its not so pretty any more, =(

Nice job, on the excessive polishing, tell your self that if you wanted something to polish you would have bought a harley or sliver-ware

Did you tap and thread right into the tail section to secure the plate?

No I just used some nylocks and button head allen bolts. If I had a tap set I would have done it that way. Make sure you check to see where the ribs in the tail section are so can avoid them. I also sealed the under tail with some RTV to make sure that I wouldn't have any leaks into the enclosed area. Probably no necessary but I put my alarm system under there and wanted to make sure it didn't get wet.
