I tried denying it was necessary, I tried coming up with new ideas, I tried routing the breather back into the force winder, I tried fancy braided line and various spiffy earl's fittings, etc...I didn't like any of it.

In the end, I have given in to my wiser bueller brothers and gone the traditional pegasus catch can set up route. So simple, so effective, so bad ass.

I do like the cute little filter though. I did have to drill it out to 11/32" to accommodate the 1/4 90 degree barb that came with the can though.

I also picked up a 17 cent rubber stopper trimmed it to fit, and superglued it in the hole in the force winder.

Pegasus can, $30

3ft. black fuel line, $4

one stainless hose clamp (had one already), $1.29

One 3/8 brass barb (I painted it black), $3.50

One nifty little fuel filter, $3.

Rubber stopper $.17

Total $41.96 and about 20 minutes. I spent more than that on fittings and braided line experimenting before I caved in. Remind me to listen next time. I farted around with this for 3 weeks or more. Believe me, my girl does NOT want to hear about the damn breather set up ANY more. Ever.

Oil it? I have some uni air filter oil around, should I hit it with that?

I think the uni oil is for a foam type filter. The K&N oil is red in color, turns the filter a red/pink color. You can get it at most auto parts stores. Don't go overboard with the oil a little goes a long way. I like to oil mine and let it sit over night to soak in. The next day you will know if you have missed any areas. Jim, the rigid head breather came with the bike, I think it's a standard force winder part. A couple of banjo bolts and the 6" of 3/8" fuel line I trimmed away would accomplish the same thing.

I think most of the splooge you have will collect in the lowest point of your hose because it's not really and "under pressure" setup.

My .02 anyways.

Same setup I used only mine mounted on the other side. =)

Yeah, I was kinda wonderin about gravity and soforth, but I see it done this way by guys like Thomas, who seems to know what he's doing, so I followed suit.

You already got it on the tranny side...you mean cam side?

See how it runs and run through a tank of gas and empty it.

I tried to mount mine vertical so that it would actually empty.

There is some pressure there. Take the hose off when the motor is running and you will feel it. Your problem could be drain back when you shut the motor off. I have mine running parallel with the ground between the cylinder heads to my catch can.

Mine is not exactly parallel, I routed it slightly uphill around the front motor mount. Maybe I oughtta re-route? I don't get a lot of drain anyway, just vapors really. I guess I'll see what happens, it might be fine.

I find that I get the most spooge when the bike has been sitting for like a week. (Yeah I do ride my Duce also.) When I do get a chance to ride her every day or ever other day I get very little spooge. You should be getting some liquid in your catch can, so it just might be like Nutz said too much uphill in the hose.

Could you make a bracket that uses the horn mount location?

My bike is in the shop getting the shock rebuilt and new tires. I'm going to order the catch can now so I can put it on when I get back.

You could use a cushioned clamp like the one that holds the left scoop to the frame. You just need to find one that had an ID 1 2/3". Might be worth taking the catch can to the hardware store and see if they have something that big. You could even reuse the bolt from the horn bracket.

Just doing a little research before I install mine.

I got the Pegasus catch can and rip off K&N filter.

I'd like to do the horn mount and get rid of that ugly thing - but I don't want to run into issues during inspection time.

It seems strange to be running the line all the way to the other side of the bike. Routing the line up then down doesn't seem like the greatest idea too.

Do I have to worry about the heat? I was playing around and I think I can fit it between the motor and the frame/intake.

I might be able to use half the breather setup (180 bent metal tube and plastic hose) that came on the aftermarket intake.

Instead of putting it on the left side of the bike, there's plenty of room on the right
