I was on the phone with Barbara Banke today, and depending on what I hear here and elsewhere, it may be the end of the product line for the Banke pedals. There is only a few items of each left in stock, and we may not have enough interest left on these to commit to another buy for a minimum purchase.

How many folks out there don't have one, but would be planning on purchasing on in the next year?

Al

Their pedals are nice but just way over priced. I would buy one if it comes up in the classifieds or ebay but wouldn't pay full price for them.

They're great, but not in the budget. I have friends with lathes and CNCs if I get around to modelling the parts I need.

The shifter is what's particularly spendy. I had a weak moment when FMJ had one for sale and finally got one after having the brake and frame support for a couple years.
The problem is that at least in pics, everything else looks cheap.

When I got my X1 it had the shifter on it, so I got the brake pedal to match. Matching pulley to the PMs matching foot controlls...very nice, now I'm pickling the beast till I get time to ride where there's corners.

Lowroad,
When you get the brake pedal you've gotta get the matching frame brace!!!

Banke brace

"pickling the beast..."

Is that what they're calling it these days?

Snake,

I might also be interested in the brake lever myself. I already have the reverse pattern shifter and frame brace on my '97 S1.See if you can get a price, and maybe we could get them to machine some more.

F.Y.I.
Ok Men, I just got off the phone with Jim Banke. He said that there is a small company that he is working out a deal for a small order of 15 brake pedals. If the deal goes through he will make them for us wanting one for the S1 or X1.
He also said he needs atleast 8 orders to make it worth his time ect.... He said to call him directly and be put on a waiting list so when he reaches enough he will make them. His number is 831-335-1422 super nice guy. He also said he has a few shifters left and some pulley covers. Pretty slim pickings. He is also making me a polished timing cover end plate if anyone is interested call him.

Thanks for the information. I just installed the new Banke Shift lever and it is SOOOOO much better then stock. I was told it was the last of three that they had. Try it and you won't go back.
