Here are the part numbers I found for the X1 select seat. There are only a few left and I think only orange and yellow. No black or blue ones. I had to get an orange one and am in the process of dying the piping black.

51890-00y black piping
51892-00y blue piping
51893-00y orange piping
51894-00y yellow piping
51895-00y red piping
51896-00y onyx piping

Low - Make sure to use dye and not paint. I have used both and had very bad luck with the paint rubbing off. I have used VHT dye and had great results and will be using in on my new seat. It penetrates the vinyl/plastic and wont rub off, even if it is scuffed it will be the color you dyed it.

PK - I got mine from Pikesvill HD in PA for around $250 shipped to my door.

Like I said b4 get them now! There were less than 6 left in any color when I ordered mine on Monday.

got mine.

Orange piping. Shipping from Colorado. $269.59 total.

Thanks for the tip on the VHT dye. I was wondering what brand to use.

I was considering the SEM from eastwood, but I'll go with the VHT now.

yeah, the "wear through" where the seat meets the tank concerns me quite a bit, and the guy expects more that the new ones are going for.

I offered him $150 and he shot me down. He's hoping to get more than $200. I'd rather spend another $30 and get a brand new one.

will that dye work on a set of (vinyl??) Buell sadlebags? My black bags are faded and look like they are about 100 years old!

Mick - The dye will work on any vinyl, plastic, synthetic fabric and even leather. I would test an area out of sight like the bottom or back side of the bag first. I have used VHT dyes on a lot of interior car parts from dash boards, door panels, seats, and even carpet. I just finished my new seat. I only dyed the piping since the rest of it was new. Looks great. Cant even tell that it had orange piping and an orange logo.

The logo was hand colored with a super fine sharpie pen.

LOOKS GREAT!

so you just masked off the piping real well and sprayed away? Also, did you use gloss or satin VHT dye? I ordered satin black already.

Yes. I was really anal about masking the piping off, took me like an hour. When you spray, make sure to use light fogging coats or you will get runs under the tape. The dye tends to come out really heavy so test it on something to get the feel for it. After it was dry (the next day) I touched up the areas that the dye didn't get to with a sharpie. Just pull the piping back and you will see what I mean. When coloring the logo be sure to keep off the white areas and you will find that the color thread will wick the black but not get on the white threads.

Oh yeah, the color is the satin black. I found that at first it will be a little glossy but dulls up a little over time.

Got mine today!

What a nice piece of kit, especially considering the Corbin costs about double, and honestly, I don't like it as much.

Could you give a contact number for these seats? A PM would be OK.
