I ripped it apart and did the right thing (at least I thought I did) Replaced the gear and installed the 07 oil pump. I was talking to a young hot rodder and he said that the bronze gear won't last 10,000 mile! I told him that Buell was running this set up in their production 07 bike and nothing was said about servicing this gear. Do you guys have any info???

Toyota,Nissan,Honda, etc all use Bronze oil pump drive gears.

Had the oil pan off the wife's '94 Nissan to fix an leak a few months ago, mileage 240,000...the bronze drive gear looked new.

Thanks for the piece of mind! I'm 40 years old and when I was building my hotrods roller billet cams were WAY OUT of my price range. So I did not have much experience with them as far as longevity
