My 2000 S3 has fairly new brake pads and the rotor appears straight with no evidence of being overheated. The brake does not feel smooth when applied. I did some rather hard braking on the interstate this afternoon and it feels better than it did but not as good as my S1 even with the stock jungle rotor. The pads had been replaced by a Harley dealer and I'm wondering if a pad change will correct this. Any suggestion as to the best pad to use for street use?

I am very pleased with the EBC HH pads I put on my S3

Lyndall Gold pads work well for my S3. Felt like the disk was warped before I put them on, perfect after.

I had a similar problem with my rotor also. There were dark spots on the braking surface. After reading thru different thread in the KV, this isn't an unusual problem. They weren't hot spots but more like brake dust build up from the junk stock pads. I took the rotor off sanded it smooth and reinstall with EBC HH pads and haven't had a problem since.
