I'm in the process of planning a longer trip than usual, around the 2500km mark. I have to be honest as I have never gone far enough to gauge my 00 X1 on highway mileage!! How far does everybody get out of their bikes on average. This is the first road trip with the Buell. Its been 7yrs of toping off the tank every-other day for commuting.

My 97 M2 gets between 50 and 55 mpg, depending on how quick I want to get to where I'm going.

I get about 50 MPG with my S3, with a best of 60 MPG. Be sure to fill up well before the low fuel light comes on, since there is a very small amount of fuel left, about .8 gal.

If I recall correctly, it's about 15 miles or so of riding with the light on.

+1 I get in the low 50's with a race ecm, air filter and V&H exhaust. Mine's a '99 X1 or was, it will be again someday I hope.

With a corrected odometer, I get 52 - 56 MPG average. I always do better West to East, and with a noticeable tailwind, I have gotten 60 MPG for several tankfulls a S3.

Be cautious in unpopulated areas, less gas stations, and occasionally suspect product.

By the way, if you are charging your purchases, notify your credit card co. in advance. If too many charges are made per day, they can deny credit. This has nothing to do with you being over your limit. It happened to me, on a marathon day.

I go to fast all the time...I can burn fuel like no other...I have gotten as little as 130 miles on a tank when the light goes on!

Also im Way up in the mountains Thin air here. I used to ride my carbed bike's up into the mountains farther up and they wont hold idle anymore.

My x1 hits the reserve light around 130 miles also. If I remember it works out
to around 40-45 mpg.I find it very hard to conserve fuel with this thing.

So I guess I'll plan for 120 to 130 mile gas stops about every 2hrs on the average.

My stock X1 gets 50 mpg with mixed driving (town/highway). Your X1 should easily get over 175 miles per tank. 200 miles on the highway should be easy.

PS - Nice X1, I love the stripe specials...a lot!

My "00" X1 is sitting in the garage this very moment with 156 on the clock, 180ish is light on. On long runs I'll stop next gas station after seeing 150.
