I sent out the draft handout to everyone that sent me an email. Hopefully it will provide some insight into what we are thinking.

I was not sure I would get it out today. A fire started on Ft Carson at 10am and when I heard about it 10 acres had burned, then 100, then 5000. With this great weather we are having fires happen more often (very windy as well). I live close to Ft Carson and we were talking about evacuating. The fire at its closest point was three to four miles away.
http://www.kktv.com/news/headlines/40655377.html

Lynn and I talked about what to do and when the conversation came to the bikes I decided we could only take two. She asked "my bike and which of yours"?

I said the S2-T of course. The Uly can be replaced, the S1W is more of a fun bike but I would have a hard time replacing the S2-T. LOL

If anyone else wants a copy of the draft shoot me an email and I will send it to you.

BTW The fire is 10 percent contained and hopefully they will make progress tonight because tomorrow we will have high winds again.

Frank

You bet Eric and yes it should have been on this thread as well. Let me know if I can be any help to you on your way to Colorado.

Things are coming together and I am looking forward to it. The main goal of course is to have a great time and celebrate the S2 and Owners. Did you get yours back together? If I remember right you had some work to do to it.

It will be 79 degrees tomorrow and while I have been riding the Uly to work every day for the last two weeks I think I will play it safe and ride the S2-T tomorrow.

Mine is not yet apart, let alone together again. My five year long Sportster project is about to get punted to the 'done' section. A fuel delivery issue turns out to be a spider nest in the air vent for the carb bowl. Weird.
Thanks for the offer. May get back to you on that. Good luck with the fires!
And thanks for the mail-out.

If anyone did not get my email last night with attachment and your going to attend, please drop me an email at f_skinner@yahoo.com.

Here is a little Tee Shirt Teaser. Nothing final yet and the experts are working on it. Expect to hear more in about two weeks with pre-order information as well.

Frank

Frank, put me down for a T-shirt in Med. I love the angle of the S2 on the rear, though personally I think the pic on the rear should be a 'T' model.

On a side not to everyone else, unfortunately I most likely will NOT be able to make this meet.

I am going to leave you on the mailing list until you tell me otherwise.

Loren, I just ordered one for me and one for Lynn... Thanks so much for setting that up. It sure does make things a lot easier.

BTW: I rode the Uly all day yesterday and a little today. I took the S2-T out today on some of the same roads I was on with the Uly and IMO the S2-T is a better road bike. More stable and fun to ride, plus it just sounds so damn good with the race muffler.

Frank, We are glad to help out a little in making the rally memorable for everyone. It's been a fun project on our end. We'll get shirts out after the May 20th order cutoff date.

I would bet the S2 is a better road bike than the Uly. I see the Uly as a great Swiss Army knife, but sometimes a fillet knife is the best tool. The S2 is a fillet knife.

Attention to those going to the S2 Gathering. We are offering the shirts in the color of the S2 bikes. Pick the color of the shirt to match your bike. We thought that would be cool, to have everyone stand by their bike wearing the colored shirt to match their bikes...REX

Meribeth picked up the silk screens today and we did some testing on some cheap t-shirts I picked up at Wally World. These are with the Navy Blue ink. Screens have to dry from cleaning then we will try some white ink on darker colors. We are real happy with how the images are printing.

Those shirts ROCK!
I will definately be ordering some.

Frank, still a bit unsure if I can make it.
My son will be coming home from 6 years in the Navy, right around the same time.
It would be seriously cool if he could make the trip too.

Brad, I do not think we can have the S2 Gathering without you!

It will be great if your son can make it as well. Keep us informed. I was not in the Navy but I served on three Navy bases and have been on ship (the Air Force has one but used to have four). Maybe we can trade some sea stories. The difference between a fairy tale and a sea story is a fairy tale starts out "Once upon a time" a sea story starts out "This is a no Sh1ter"....

I thought I would be working on the S2T this weekend. I got the S1W running a lot better but the speedo drive crapped out on me about 5 miles into my ride. I also discovered an exhaust manifold leak. I just ordered that freaking drive unit for the speedo and it was 70 dollars. Prices have gone up!

I almost have all the parts to do preventative maintenance to the S2T. Without a doubt it is still my favorite ride.

Thanks guys, I'm really trying to pull this one off.
Carl still doesn't have a definate date.
His boat is deploying sometime in June, he has to go with it..... even though he's getting out in July.
So, he'll transit with them to Guam or Japan, doing a few ops on the way.
Then fly back to base, pack and come home.

OK, one more time.
What's the dates on this event?

Can we get it put at the top of the thread?

If someone were to show up say on an M2, would they be ridiculed and shunned?

No, of course not. I hope everyone has a good time no matter what they ride. I bet even a few XBs show up. Blake, I absolutely hate when people try that my ride is superior crap especially from people that do not know me. You do not see that with Buellers that much, at least not overtly.

After being involved with this I have, what I think, is a better plan next year.

Actually Bart I am doing very little. Rex is the driving force and without Gowindward and his better half we would not have on-line ordering of the shirts.

Thanks Rex, if no one has fun can you take the credit????

The thing that worries me most is people not having fun. I think, with Buellers, they will have fun no matter what. All they need is a road. With Mr. Canfield and maybe Mr. Gess showing up it will be something to remember.

The guys at HCHD/Buell have been great and we are looking at having a couple of demo bikes there on Friday evening. As people come into town and get settled they can blast around on a 1125 and whatever else they bring up.

I still have a couple of BIG things I need to work out. Like a dinner/awards place.

All I can say is I am happy to be a part of this event.

We placed the first "batch" order for shirts to the shirt supplier today. We accumulated a few orders so that freight cost would be spread over a few shirts. If all goes well, we will print and ship out those shirt next week.
