Anyone used these? If so, do they provide any more support than regular exhaust clamps?

Ooh, I like the looks of those.

I wonder how those would fair with the race header shoe!?

I'm up for trying one.

I've used something similar on 2 cars, a straight 8 Buick w/ duals on drivers side, very tight installation through the frame, no room for flanged joints. Actually I virtually butted adjoining pipes together with a minimal slip so the clamp really secures the 2 pipes together...no leaks, no movement, no probs..working out well!
the other is a Lincoln with a aftermarket 'X' type crossover and again limited room for clamps...also works well.
They don't deform exhausts like saddle clamps, so the pipes can come apart for removal.
The ones I got from NAPA are mostly stainless. Keep in mind the half-ovals & bolt assembly that pull the stainless band together sticks out ~ 3/4", and the bolts are perpendicular to it.

I've used them on both an X1 & M2 with race header/exhaust at the exhaust/pipe joint. Much better than the stock setup IMO.

Not a lot of room on the header shoe though, so the original clamp is better used there, IMO.

I use that clamp to hold up the front of my Force pipe. It has worked great but I am not using it to hold a muffler onto a collector. I can't see why it wouldn't do the job though as the clamping area is greatly increased over a stock clamp

The area available on the shoe for a clamp is not very wide. If you were to use this style clamp, I think it would be 'overkill' IMO, as the overlap of the clamp would either need to be shimmed or stepped down, to give you any additional 'clamping' on the header.

The OEM clamp on the shoe works 'just right' in regards to width, again IMO.

As far as where the collector & pipe meet though, these types of clamps are the bees knees, again, IMO.

I picked mine up at the local NAPA btw, so you can find them elsewhere than just Jegs, etc.

NAPA part #: BK 7333220
