Do Thunderstorm heads use the smaller spark plugs that use a 5/8 socket?
I have a guy wanting to sell me a sportster with what he says are Thunderstorm heads, the motor is silver and the heads are black, is there any other ways to tell if they are Thunderstorms?

I believe that different spark plugs have different socket sizes. My NGK DPR7ea-9 had a 5/8" socket size and the NGK DPR9EA-9 were a bigger socket.

John's right - different plugs with the same thread size can use varying sockets.

Other than the color, I don't know how else to tell the difference externally. Maybe there's a casting mark?

Also, the threads are 12mm on my 01 Cyclone. I had to buy a new compression tester with a 12mm adapter to to a comp test. Normal is 14 or 18mm.

I thought that the T-storm heads had "buell" cast in them.
