Okay guys tell me what are the ways to raise that 5500 rpm soft rev limiter. It's like having the bike fall on it's face right at the point I'm about to shift. I guess to many miles on the 12R.

I have done some searching and came up with a few different ignition modules to use, but did not come to a conclusion of which one is the best or the best value.

What have you done or is this just something to live with?

My 1997 S3T takes a 8 pin IGN. Module ...

Here are some Part Numbers that may be of interest ...

PN 32418-96Y BUELL Lighting Module

PN 32680-96Y(same as HD Screamin'Eagle PN 32633-96)BUELL Pro-Series Module ...

PN 32654-98 HD Screamin'Eagle SINGLE or DUAL Fire Module(REV. LIMIT selection of 6000, 6500, 7000, OR 7500 RPM) ...

These raise the REV. LIMITER TO 7000 RPM ...

IMHO, anything over 6500 RPM is hard on the bottom end(ie; rods), MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!!

LaFayette, Thanks for the part numbers! Looks like a couple of those may just be the ticket. I would be happy will 6500 rpm.

Anyone have any experience with the p/n's LaFayette posted up?

I'm thinking this is the one to use, but have no idea about wiring connects.

PN 32680-96Y(same as HD Screamin'Eagle PN 32633-96)BUELL Pro-Series Module

Okay found this by searching "32680-96Y"

Looks like P/N N0306.9A maybe the one needed for the S2. On to more research....

Okay..Here's the answer.

Looks like Joe (Ratbuell) confirmed this is the P/N N0306.9A to have on a stock S2.

I'm always so impressed with the wealth and years of knowledge available here on Badweb.

There's also an adaptor from one wiring style to the other. I forget the vendor - Dyna Ignition, maybe? - but you can run a later module on an earlier bike this way. Like my S2 with S1W ignition (to go with the t-storm top end I put on). I'll find my receipt.

BUELLers:

The part numbers that "i" gave out are old part numbers ...

A HARLEY-DAVIDSON/BUELL parts technician can run these part numbers on the computer which can tell you if still avalable and the NEW "BUELLschitte" PART NUMBERS ...

The HARLEY-DAVIDSON PART NUMBERS are still good to my knowledge ...

MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!!

So which connector do you have on your S-2--early or late--7 pin or 8.
I have a Dyna 2000 7 pin programmable module with coil and connector cable to hook to your computer if you wish to program the module. Dyna makes adapter connectors to go from 7-8 or 8-7, have one of the 8-7 ones as well. Take 150 for the works. Cost me nearly 400.00 for all.

Jim, thanks for the offer. I already ordered the factory N0306.9A unit. I'm not sure which connector is on the bike or the unit I ordered. I'll figure that out in a week or more when the part comes in. Like always it's "special order"...Oh the life of owning a Buell.

Too bad you went with the "stocker" as almost all the aftermarket ones are very adjustable--single/dual fire, multiple timing curves, adjustable rev-limiter, rear cyl offset etc.
