I would like to remove the swing arm for a quick cleaning before spring...according to the Shop manual I have completely disassemble the back half of the bike....is that right? Can I just pull the rear tire and drop the swing arm with a few bolts?

Any help would be great

thanks

no it is a pretty big job as far as tear down goes. you need to take off the bars with the motor beig jacked up from the bottom and the remove the four 3/4 inch nuts bolts that secure the mountinig block to the motor.

as well as remove the rear isolators, and probably the oil tank for ease of access

While it is a part, install the new isolators

Yeah, it is not a quick job. If you do remove the swingarm mounting block from the motor, be aware that you're not supposed to reuse the bolts, according the manual, so have new ones ready.

+1 on updating the isolators. They'll be on the floor of your garage anyway.

Consider a new belt too.

Pete, PM sent.

I've removed and installed mine in the past month, but my motor was already pulled.

Let me know if you'd like a hand with it.
