This may be a dumb question, but I've owned a lot of bikes and never seen this before. My spark plug wires are grounded to my heads. I Can't figure out what the reason is. Does anyone know? I bought the bike with these wires. It seems to me all a ground would do is kill the spark to the plug?? Is this common to Buell?

Thanks Sleez... They clam to have built in capacitor, (The reason for the ground).
They are making some pretty bold claims.
Quote:
"This revolutionary design allows energy from the ignition coil to accumulate in the Nology capacitor until the voltage at the spark plug electrodes reaches the ionization point. At that split second point the entire power of the stored spark is discharged at once, creating a spark 300 times more powerful."
I can't prove if any of it is true, but mystery solved.

With just a slight bit of tweaking - these units are so good that they will actually synthesize gasoline and you'll need to drain off the excess couple of gallons of gas about every 75 - 100 miles. Plus the 35 or 30 horsepower the wires make is useful.

OUCH!! - the wife just looked over my shoulder and gave me a whack - said I was being "cynical" again. Jeez!

AL

ps - My friend Frank (bike mag editor) said Kip Woodring did some dyno tests on plug wires a few years back, including these, and that there was no credence to the claims. The big Acell 8.8's added about 1/10 of a horsepower, the rest were equivocal. Maybe they would have an advantage if you have a plug fouling problem - that 300X might keep 'em clean.

I’m skeptical of there claims too. I think that if adding an in line capacitor could triple your energy somebody would of figured that out a long time ago. I’ll leave them on though. Somebody paid a lot of money for them.

I had those for a while. When my bike stopped running right I switched to regular wires and was good to go.
