Hey, I've got a 2000 M2. When I have my girl riding on the back, the bike "bounces" after hitting bumps, it seems to be mostly the rear. Now, I checked the manual and I saw that I can adjust the compression on the shock, however, cannot adjust rebound. I can adjust rebound on the forks. The bike has 7k miles on it, do you think it's really ready for a new shock or rebuild? Will adjusting the rebound of the forks help any? Erik |

Yes, do yourself a favor and get an upgrade shock and do fork work also. If this is the only upgrade you do to your tuber it is the best money spent. Joe |

The world runs on money. I don't have much. Keep that in mind please. I would love to pop a Penske shock and upgraded fork springs etc... under it, but I just don't have the money. What will fix the problem without melting my wallet? Erik |

Do you have the recall shock? I believe the replacement recall shock has more adjustments than just compression. The replacement shock has the remote reservoir, the original shock does not. If you still have the original, you need to get it replaced. It is sketchy as to whether to can still get the recall work done for free, some have had good luck, some haven't. |

Try looking for the upgraded shock from a 2001 or 2002 M2 on various places. (Here/Ebay/etc.) They will have the reservoir and more adjustment. We all cannot afford the latest or greatest but we all need to be able to ride. Hey good luck and if you need adjustment info ask here or get a manual of the same year as the shock. Goooood Luck. |
