Hi All my 96 S-1 Has started having bubbles in the tank paint, it's not leaking. Could fuel stabilizer have done this? |

the factory plastic tanks are just pourous (spellcheck?) over time the fumes from gas seep through causing the paint to bubble. search around the KV (Knowlage Vault) section of badweb, there are some good write ups on repainting those tanks so that the bubbleing doesn't happen again. |

There is a product made by PRC-Desoto AKA PPG called PR-1005L that is made for nylon tanks. Find your local supplier and ask to talk to a sales rep. The local guy here gave me a "sample" for free. You will need at least 2 quarts to get a couple of coats. Be very careful when you apply it IT WILL NOT COME OFF THE PAINT ON YOUR TANK! I've been told vasoline helps that or just completely cover it in paper. |

You mean to coat the inside of the tank? I have been thinking of doing a wrap for the tank. |

Yes its an inside coat. This product was made for nylon aircraft tanks, and works well with Buell tanks because it expands and contracts well with heat and cold. |
