Does anyone know the correct part numbers for the xb rockerbox breather conversion.
1. rocker box cover front and rear
2. rocker box gaskets only the big ones not small square ones
3. pcv valves

1995-2002 xb parts only

I have the part numbers as follows but Im not sure they are right
1.17605-00yb front rocker cover cant find rear part number.
2.17607-00y pcv valves.
3.17353-89c gaskets.
If you guys have the time let me know if these are the right parts for the conversion.

Billetmetallic, you ride a BUELL so you are far, far from ignorance !!!

1) Valve, umbrella PN 26856-89 never were any good as head heat kills them !!!

2) Less breather puking as PVC valve is higher up, runs cooler and lasts longer ...

3) Easier pluming to a catch container ...

4) Cleans up carb. support area ...

You do not run a head breather into the intake as it pollutes the intake charge ...

If you want to lubricate the valve guides put 1.75 oz. STP per gallon(when you fill up the gas tank) in the gasoline every 5K miles ...

When the BLAST came out was when my head breathers got up-dated ...

Of course the XB's were not out yet, so "i" just drilled my OEM rocker arm covers to take the BLAST PVC Valves ...

Preybird1, this allowed me to place the BLAST PVC Valves where "i" wanted them !!!

If "i" can find pictures of what "i" did, they can be e-mailed to you ???

I'm planning on doing this conversion myself here in a week or so. Anyone know the pn's for the gaskets I'll need to replace as I still have the leaky paper ones?

The middle section gets removed and set aside of you are using the XB covers.

I remember tht Blake, I have seen it both ways since.
Just a bit of work with a file on the front left corner.
If memory serves we needed to remove a bit on the inside to clear the allen bolt on the rocker box left front.
Another M2 I did didin't need the relief work. Cover slipped right on.

I found a Buell dealer with parts inventory online, unfortunately not a sponsor, and the whole kit TexasTech mentions cost's only $88.40!!

Yup, 20% off every order, pretty much all the time!!

What is the advantage of updating the boxes other than less chance of leaks? The head breathes through the top of the XB boxes but you still have to run "drain lines" correct?

The HARLEY-DAVIDSON EVO SPORTSTER breather set up allows to much oil to get in the breather system and intake ...

That means you over pollute the intake charge if you leave the breather system OEM which makes the XB system better ...

"NOW" if you want to lubricate the valve guides, run some "STP" in you gas every 5K miles ...

Performance wise, it is better to run your breather hoses into a catch container no matter what breather system you use ...

"YES", you have to run these hoses(drain lines) some where ...

Is this mod only for the carb'd X1s?

Sorry if the question seems dumb; I am not mechanically inclined. When I tear apart my engine I am likely not to get it back together. :-) but I'm gonna try!

Here's what I've got so far. It's not complete, and these aren't the prices you'll pay from a normal dealer, these are the 20% off prices....It's not a sponsor from here, so I can't divulge.

Qty 1 17605-00YB COVER, TOP, FRONT, MACHINED $31.20 $31.20
Qty 1 17642-02A COVER, TOP, REAR, MACHINED $31.20 $31.20
Qty 2 17606-00YA GROMMET, VITON, BLACK $2.36 $4.72
Qty 2 17607-00Y PCV TURRET VALVE $7.44 $14.88
Qty 2 868A SCREW, HEX SOCKET BUTTON HEAD $3.20 $6.40
Qty 2 17353-89C GASKET, ROCKER COVER $5.24 $10.48

I just don't know the part numbers for the oil hoses, that's all. I don't think I'm missing anything else.
