Well I have heard, and seen the bigger motors (harley) going for up in the range of 100k. I just didn't know for sure with the rev-happy way these things are if they would last nearly as long

It's all in the maintanence. Namely, better gaskets and synthetic oil. And bronze drive gear and stuff like that depending on how you ride. My 2 has 30K and runs fine, butneeds new isolators soon. My XL1200S shattered a drive gear @ 17K cuz I rode 100 mph everywhere. My S2 rarely sees above 80.

i have 6k on my 98 s1....but i just picked it up in december...and it currently 3 degrees outside..
