OK.. I had the weekend to be lazy and since it was rainy I decided to take advantage of it and done some playing around with the 01 X1 and the 99 S3T.

On the 01 X1 - I polished out the rear tail section and did the shifter linkages. Took about 6 hours total..

The 99 S3T - The bags finally got done being painted so i installed them and got the cleaned up.

How about using that Mothers polishing ball in a drill. I just got one but haven't used it much yet. I did get the smaller one.

I have used the ball and drill for polishing before... but it does get a tad messy if your not carefull.

Nice job on the tail matt. Came out real good.
BTW, those of you who switched to the "improved" shift linkage, does it really make a big difference? Worth $150?
Just need a little encouragement to pull the trigger...
Thanks.

kalali,

The improved linkage came on this one, but my 99S3T has the other one...

I really like the improved better. Just seems easier to shift with it and not as much force is needed with your foot.

But... thats just my opinion.

Matt
