Happy Birthday to you too Frank and thanks.

So there are 3 manuals out there.

I've been doing some searching for the owners manual on line. But not at American Sports Bike. I didn't realize they had them.

I did talk to Al about a pay pal account with them , cause I don't believe in credit.
So I don't have any credit cards.

Anyway the store don't have a pay pal account, but he does and said he would work with me.
Which I thought was awesome.

I might have to flex my Birthday rights and order me a couple manuals... I might hold out on the owners manual in case he finds it.

That sounds awesome a Buell Homecoming.
Looking forward to it.

Dennis, you can order the owners manual from a dealership, sometimes you can find them on ebay. If you get it from a dealership it will be new and not full of greasy fingerprints. LOL...

That is Great Advice. Thanks.

I've been doing some searching for Buell dealerships in Missouri.

The only one I can find is in Columbia, which is around a 100 miles from me.

There are several Harley dealers closer, but none that sell Buell, that I can tell.

Guess I could get any Harley dealer to order me an owners manual.
I'd just rather go to a dealership that has new Buells setting on the show room floor. Mostly just to see them.

Dennis, if all else fails one of the sponsor dealerships will be able to mail it to you. I have a HD/Buell dealership right down the road however they are hostile towards Buells. I have had good luck with the dealers on this site. Frank

Dang...This is the only one I found at American Sports Bike for the 01 M2.

#17204 01 Factory Service Manual, 2001 M2 - Add $60.00

I have this one. They didn't have the parts manual.
I was wrong. I just found it they do have one.

#17220 00-01 Factory Parts Manual, M2/M2L - Add $48.00

I bought a Buell Cyclone in '98 at the International Motorcycle Show in St. Louis. I believe the dealer was Gateway there in St. Louis. They delivered the bike to my doorstep in Springfield Mo. My first ride was in the dark and about 25 degrees! Is Gateway not there any more?

Wow thats cool.. Was the motorcycle show at Gateway Speedway ?
There is a half mile track there thats still open.
I also know of a couple pretty good salvage yards in that area.

I'm not sure about a Harley/ Buell dealer though. It might be worth me checking into.

I moved from the St.Louis area around the same time you got your bike.
I'm about 80 miles south west out 44 now in a small town called Leasburg.

I dont go up that way to often any more, but it would be closer then Columbia.

So are you still in Springfield? I noticed they have two Harley dealers there, but it don't say anything about Buell on the dealer locator I used.

Do you still have that bike? That was one of the 1st Cyclones made wasnt it?

Thats cool they delivered it to you in Springfield. Thats like a 200 mile trip.

I'm just about halfway between St.Louis and Springfield

I still havent rode mine in the dark , but I know that cold ride rush. man...I'd like to ride her today.

Dennys used to be a Buell dealer just southwest of Springfield. We moved to Austin Tx in 2000. Sold all my bikes when we moved here. I miss Missouri sometimes, still have lots of friend there. May move back some day. Just don't miss the cold!

Yeah... I hear you there on not missing the cold...

Missouri has got some great roads to ride.

But has got it's share of cold weather.

They say if you don't like the weather today...hang around it'll be different tomorrow.

I don't know if you've ever heard of Onondaga caverns, but I live about 7 miles from there.
It got up into the 60s here today. So I took a ride towards the cave.

About half way to the park, I noticed what I 1 st thought was a state trooper heading the opposite direction.

I got that funny feeling in my stomach I was going to be seeing him again, like real soon.

I wasn't speeding, but I still had that feeling.

The posted speed limit is 35 as you enter the park dropping from 55.

Since I had that funny feeling in my stomach. I slowed down to around 45 in the 55.

Sure enough... Here he was back again.

He tailed me well into the park. I had dropped down to 20 in the 35. So I knew I wasn't going to get a speeding ticket.

Sure enough he pulled me over. Turned out it was a park ranger.

He checked out my license and stuff, and while he was doing that. I was checking out my bike.

When he came back with my license, he said that he almost bought a Buell, but got some kinda rice burner instead, and now he really regrets it.

I think he mostly just wanted to see what kind of bike it was...

After it was all said and done, he really had no reason to bust tail back after me, other then to see a cool Buell...

Made me kinda proud...

Hello Tom
Yes; I just found you guys the other day, and really enjoyed visiting with you.

I plan on coming back up soon as possible.
I want to get a pair of them Buell riding gloves. They are awesome.

When I was told about Gateway before I thought they were talking about near Gateway speed way over towards the east side.
I try to stay away from the east side, a guy could get shot over there. lol

So... I guess my east side is your west side ?
Sure... Any story from that area has to be good.

Oh Yeah... Service manual...Check
Parts manual...Check
Owners manual...Check

Got pretty good deals on the Parts and Owners manual...
Service manual came with the bike...

I typed in " Buell parts " in the search engine on e-bay.
Found tons of parts manuals for 25 bucks.

Found the owners manual at Ozark H/D in Lebanon for 12 bucks.
I drove down there yesterday and got an awesome deal on some padded BUELL riding pants.

Only trouble is, they are way to big.
I couldn't pass them up for 30 bucks tho...
They have gauntlet Buell gloves for 55 bucks verse 75

YEAP... Ozark H/D... Buell... In Lebanon Missouri.

lol I'm pretty crazy but not crazy enough to go to Lebanon Lebanon...lol

I really wish I'd took my camera with me yesterday...

They had this race bike was all carbon fiber new out of the crate had never been started. was awesome...

They even had a couple army dirt bike looking mules the guy said could be dropped from 20 feet in the air and jumped on a rode.

They had a couple of the police set up Buell's were cool.

That would be a great job to get paid to ride a Buell all day.

Yeah after I got home with my new Buell gloves and way to big Buell pants, I had to fire my girl (I named Cindy)up.

Warmed up to 44 here yesterday, was sunny and had a nice ride.Put 67 miles on yesterday Calling for snow today or I'd be at it again now.

Well, OK then. Here goes....
July, 1976. Just graduated from high school; me and a buddy accompanied my folks down to Collinsville for the 4th weekend to visit my uncle.
Uncle Jim told us the "best" fireworks were at some park in East St. Louis (don't recall the name) and let us use his car to go see 'em. Of course, we were more interested in chicks than fireworks, but the excuse fit, so we went with it.
Long story short; we ended up at this park in East SL cruisin' for chicks and pounding down brews. We happened to strike up a casual acquaintance with a couple of, ummm...black guys (who, in today's terminology would be classified and filed as "gang-bangers"). Little did we know; small town hicks that we were! Two guys turned into four. Four guys, with no shirts on, built like brick shiesthouses! Four guys who decided they wanted some 40-ouncer's, and since they were under age, they decided that I would provided the beverage of choice, pay for it myself, and return post-haste, and, oh yeah, they'd keep Mike "company" until such time as I returned.
The look in his eyes was heartbreaking as I left....something like; "OMG; Call the cops; these guys are gonna cut me into little pieces!"
I thought about it. Seriously.
But, being a small-town hick, I didn't.
I bought the beer. I also bought a 5th of vodka. I returned, expecting to find blood stains on the grass along with drag marks leading to the body.
I found nothing. They were gone!
Now I was freaking out. I searched frantically all over the park, and finally found them sitting by a statue smoking dope. Mike was terrified, by the look in his eyes. The one guy says, "Man, you came back! I thought we was gonna have to take out our anger on your buddy"! He pulls a .38 out of his pocket and I almost pass out!
Nah, I sez...just took me a while to find you. (gulp!) 40 ouncer's were passed around
and the guys pounded 'em down...fireworks began, and everyone relaxed (although it was fairly clear we were still hostages!)
Then I pulled out the vodka (Surprise!) and handed it to the guy in charge. He starts pullin' on it and passing it around. They insist we take a pull. Insist, with a pat on the coat pocket where the .38 snuggles. I don't know about Mike, but I was faking it; saving as much of my mental capacity as I had left for an escape. I took a couple of long pulls on the bottle (but didn't drink any of it!)The fireworks had ended (pretty damn good, actually) and still we were obliged to entertain. By this time these guys were all getting pretty effed-up off the vodka; hootin' and hollering and one of them wandered off. Finally, about 12:30, when the three remaining guys were pounded out of their minds, one passed out at the feet of the statue, I suggested Mike and I go for more supplies, they merrily agreed, and off we went,to our utter amazement and surprise.
I never drove so fast in my life to get the Capital Eff out of East SL and back to Collinsville. I truly believe to this day my Masterstroke of a 5th of vodka saved our bacon that night!
I haven't been back since!

Wow...
Yes; I agree with you. The vodka probably did save your butt's. Man, glad you guys got out of there.
Thats a dangerous place, mostly cause of like you said, people getting wasted and cruise'n chicks.

Hey I'm a 76er also, small town hick too.
I went to Sullivan High.

I've never had anything that hair raising happen to me,on the east side, but I've seen a lot of crazy stuff go on there. Of course I was pretty crazy myself back then.

Hey Collinsville isn't that far away. Do you have a Buell dealer near you?
I found Gateway last week.
Thank goodness its nowhere near the east side like I thought it was. Its in Lemay.

So I take it since you measure twice and cut once your a carpenter also ?

You got a sweet bike and a really good east side story.
Thanks for sharing it

It's just when you mention "St. Louis" and "East side", my mind kinda goes into the Wayback Machine and scary thoughts emerge.

lol...Yeah...I can see why...

After I posted that, I realized you said you went to visit your UNCLE JIM in Collinsville.

I can relate scary thoughts emerging from the "Wayback Machine" when you mentioned Uncle Jim.

I've got an Uncle Jim brings back scary thoughts I'd rather not go into.
