my buell is a 2000 M2 cyclone 51000km S&S E Carby and Staintune exhaust. was running fine until I washed it.....then started running ruff...thought it was water in tank or carby....local harley guy serviced carby but still not right.....now starting on only one cylinder....but firing ok when warmed up, but still missing under hard acceleration. tonight started running really ruff on one cylinder then back fire and cutting out.....shut down and walked it 5kms home. will have a good look tomorrow....thought I will start with plugs, then leads, then coil......I'm not overly happy with the S&S carby, but think it is a spark problem.....any suggestions?

I would concur. Start with the plugs and work your way back. If you have one available, clip an inductive timing light lead to your rear plug wire and see if if fires consistently. Good luck!

Thanks. Changed the plugs from HD to NGK and changed leads (these were in poor condition esp the one to the rear) and the old girl is running like a dream.

My plugs go at least once a year. I know I need a carb adjustment again as I have opened up the exhaust a bit.
