I'm also interested in using any different model / year Buell decals on the tank. As long as they are something more 3D than just stickers, and don't include another model name. (no XB12 stickers)

Shame theres no place online to search for stuff like that. Even the 95-03 painted parts book i have doesn't have pictures.

Capital, is that a cover on your battery? or just a white battery?

How did they get the left side scoop painted so glossy (no texture)? It almost looks like fiberglass.

They sanded everything down before painting.. Don't know anything more than that. The tank cover was very textured too when I bought it with only primer, and the paint shop sanded it down perfectly smooth.

3 coats of clear is why it's so much more glossy than stock. that much gloss shows defects a lot more though.

I rode it to work yesterday without the tank bra and it is showing scuffs on the cover from my jacket. Nothing that won't buff out real quick, but I need to get the bra back on ASAP.

I doubt dealers still sell them but its worth checking. I've gotten some discontinued parts from the dealer. They can find brand new items from companies that hoard "vintage" parts so the stuff is pricey but brand new.

Other than that, just keep an eye on ebay and the classifieds here.

I don't like to scratch the paint, but some times riding these naked twins is more fun without the bra!

the bra for the x1 is obsolete and not available thru buell, however, i did a stock search and 3 dealers still show it in their inventory (if they really have it i'm not sure).
here are the dealers that still show that in stock, good luck:
