Um, I would imagine that a dif color could be found, I am going to call a few distributors tomorrow. I know RaceTech sells springs for under 120 dollars... Or you can powdercoat/dip it yourself.....

Kit price needs to be tallied up..... I'll get the numbers together tonight.

Matt, You have gone from design to working prototype in a little over a month. Many manufacturers with unlimited funding would have a hard time matching that. I am presuming that these first two market units would be with the same shock from the Triumph that your original unit was based on. Did you consider using a shock from one of the XB models? They seem to be plentiful and reasonably priced and set up for Buell weight bikes.

Have you considered making the linkage kit without the shock so you can build a decent profit margin into the product? You need to start getting paid at some point

Just a thought but maybe a patent, on this would be a good idea. because whats to stop someone from stealing all your hard work and money you could possibly make.

just food for thought. I think it is a great alternative. it looks trick. good work.

patents are expensive... but well worth it if you think your idea is valuable. I would say that it is in this case.

I havent checked this thread in forever! BIG props Malott, you've done some bad ass work

I hadn't noticed this thread until now. Matt, what you are doing is interesting, but what you are doing infringes upon the privileges that are reserved strictly for the folks who fund the ongoing operation and maintenance of the place.

Talking about customization is great, but when you start offering items for sale and asking for market feedback you are stepping on the toes of sponsors.

If you want to sell stuff or conduct market research here, please look into sponsorship.

There is already a push shock setup for the Tubers, the Wilbers one, yes? And some of our sponsors offer it, yes?

And FYI, speaking as a professinoal stress analyst, I see some very serious structural issues with your configuration. Think pin-bending and fatigue. I would NOT be offering to give let alone sell that to other folks at this point. You have a lot of work to do.

Wilbers

It is a trick looking kit, it will cost 1299 GBP and is non-adjustable.

And the push shock setup offered by the sponsors is completely different........ btw.

But I understand the business infringement I accidentally caused. All apologies to custodians and sponsors.

Won't fit.... : (

I wish it would, but without dropping front mount, it won't fit. And also, running the shock upside down might cause issues with the gas/oil seperation...

I used to have some pics of the Hyperpro system. It was pricey (most Hyperpro stuff aint cheap) - but I lifted this image from another site to show how the Hyperpro system was installed:

Pic (click)

I really was interested because I was going to have to eventually replace my Showa - but when I started looking at the cost of a new Works pull-shock and comparing it to the cost of the complex linkage PLUS a new shock, it just didn't make financial sense. I now have the rebuildable Works pull-type shock on the S3.

Hey Matt. You seem to be on this forum more than checking your IMs or emails. I bought and paid for some parts you offered for sale in the classifieds. I never received them or responses to my messages. Please contact me. Thanks

All right guys, the talks have been made with a few people.....

I'm going to make another change or two to the suspension kit to take away any chances of fatigue failures that may be present on the kit now.

Blake brought it to my attention that the unforseen potholes/passenger combinations could cause spikes in the load, possibly creating stress cracks over time resulting in fastener failure.

I have some trick ideas in store, will be working on those.

The price will be adjusted to absolute no cent of income to me, so that I am not "selling" it, and I am still intending on gettting 2 test mules out there.

I just have to collect invoices and present the evidence before putting the final price out.

Give me a few days, I'm deciding on a few variables that will keep cost and weight down while meantime making the kit more bulletproof.

Over time and development, the price will go up to reflect a profit, and an expansion of parts will occur as well, including race rods, lowering kits, etc. That is the time in which I intend on becoming a sponsor of badweb. For now, I am a poor college student with an idea : )

That is extremely clever- I'd be interested in a kit myself. I haven't read everything yet but I like what I see- a push shock doesn't have as many vulnerability issues since it isn't fully extended under max load.

I asked you before about a lowering link and nothing came of it, shame really. I'd be interested in one of these set ups anyway and would release you of all liability. If I don't like some part, I'll change it myself. Thanks.

I seem to have shut down any and all discussion;forget liability for a moment, shouldn't have mentioned it other than the fact that it remains the only form of guarantee of engineering soundness available over the internet. How does it work so far and where can I get me one?
