Hey guys my friends bike blew both the rocker box gaskets and is pissing oil all over. We got to looking at it, And when i took my x1 head apart it had a black steel gasket. Now there was another blueish green gasket on top of the metal one on his bike and we can see that is the gasket that is blown, So my question is why is there 2 gaskets?? WTF.

Should only be the metal gasket under there. They are the new style. Sounds like they might have installed a new metal gasket on top of the old one. Is the other made of paper/cardboard like material?

Two gaskets are better than one?

Maybe they put a second one in so when the first let go you could just remove it and already have a second in place, like those peel off mud shields for dirt riders?

Someone's a dipstick. The green, plastic-like gasket, IS the paper gasket. The plastic-like qualities they attain after a few years is the reason they got the boot.

Just think, someone wasn't smart enough to remove the old gasket, but they've been working on YOUR bike! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hey guys this bike is not mine...I was told not to say who's bike this is. It was very expensive

Almost paid for now!

Wow im glad i did my own bike, Hey at least i used a gasket scraper and a little brake clean on a shop rag to get it nice and clean, the head gasket i mean not the rocker gaskets, It worked very well for me.

(THE GREEN GASKET)
He had noticed what gaskets were on my rocker box when i took it off and separated it, He hadn't looked at his bike because he was so disgusted with it. When he finally looked at it. A closer inspection of the oil leaking from the void(s) and BAM! GREEN GASKETS DOUBLE STACKED ON THE OLD ONE!

At least both rocker box gaskets went out together.
