Who uses them and what are your thoughts? I took my bike in and they said they could replace the washers and temporarily fix the brake shake or switch the disk to an EBC and eliminate the problem permanently. Anyone used these? Any thoughts? Any comments good or bad?

I have an EBC disk on my 01 M2. I'm very happy with it. I used my 01 disc to replace my 98 M2 rattly front disc. Both are a great improvement over the gen Buell disc with the washers and screws.

I've also got the EBC on my 2001 M2 - works great, no issues. Less expensive than the OEM part, too.

EBC on my S2, love it. Although until I scored it (quite by accident), I had replaced the wave washers on the stock rotor - a cheap and easy fix - and it worked just fine, too. Main reason I switched was the drive pin sockets on the stocker were egged out rotationally, so the disc was moving "around" the carrier. I could roll the bike nearly an inch with the front brake clamped. Wave washers don't fix that, lol.

i too have ebc front rotor, on 99 m2, love it, stylish, built well, grabs better than stock - the carrier takes paint well for a nice custom look, and it was reasonably priced! nice improvement over stock.

I do have a question about the EBCs though. Have a line on "most" of another one, but it's missing one carrier button. Can they be sourced seperately and serviced/replaced?

EBC is a British brake manufacturer, one of the largest in the world.

I put a EBC rotor/ pads on my S3 a couple of months ago, priced right and works great.

Anybody got pics of the EBC rotors on their bikes? Front and rear? I don't think I've ever seen what the rear for a tuber looks like.

Just to clarify, it looks like Tripp's bike is the only one above pictured with an EBC. Zenfrog appears to have a late-OEM 9-button factory rotor, and Beachbuell (as stated) has the Braking wave rotor.

My guess is Tripp painted his carrier - they ship now from EBC with a silver carrier. My S2 is below (family portrait - OEM rotor on the S1W).

Cool, thanks. They really do make the front look different with the curved carrier, but the drilled disc (rather than slotted) looks cool. Black on blcak is nice Tripp : )
I used SBS sintered pads on my bike a while ago, which was a mistake, they ate in to the disc a bit, so I should replace my front rotor at some stage... and a matching rear rotor would just look cool : )

Rat - absolutely right: that is late OEM rotor on my bike. It's got the EBC now, but I goofed and posted an old photo.

I have the Ferodo disc on my S1 and really like it, but it is an iron disc, and will rust up really easily. Braking is great with it though, I will try to get a pic. tonight.

Cool. I thought the Ferodo discs were stainless... or do they make both? I don't mind the rust.

Thanks Dean. Looks nice. I'm going to order a Ferodo disc when I order my new engine mount. I just prefer the straight spokes of the rotor hub to the curved ones on the EBC.
What pads do you use?

cheers,
chili

They are Ferodo as well, I think just a standard street compound.
