I'm just curious, will an X1 tank fit under the S2 tank cover and still line the cap up right? I'm just curious because eventually I want to build an S2T from the ground up specifically for touring purposes, and I was thinking about fuel injection possibilities. |

The tanks are very different. I do not think it would work. But I do have a few pieces laying around I could check for you. |

Dan, I think you have too much buell parts laying around. I'd be more than happy to take some off your hands LOL. The reason I ask is, if it will fit under the S2 tank cover, I could theoretically take the electronics and running gear from an X1 and put them under an S2 frame and body. Then I'd just have to rewire the controls to use the Harley 1" counterparts that I like better. This is my theory. If the X1 tank won't fit, then I need to figure out how to convert an S2 tank to work with EFI. The idea is that I could gain a lot of the X1's refinements and features but in the beautiful shell of an S2. |

Ross, i know that there are inline fuel pumps that you could probably rig up to bolt to the frame. Is there room under the seat on a s2 to mount the ecm? |

Ross, Have you ever ridden an X1? What you are calling "refinements" most folks who know Buells would tell you are pieces of junk!! The X1 fuel injection was horrible to say the least and I would strongly discourage anybody from trying to convert a perfectly good carbed bike to the X1/S3 fuel injection. If you want the best performaing fuel system get a Mikuni42 or 45 if you have a big bore!! |

yeah, I suppose I am talking out my ears. The idea of fuel injection came from another idea about building a concept hydrogen injection system for it. A friend of mine installs hydrogen injection systems on cars for profession and I thought it would be cool to see this done on a bike. |

oh, and the refinements I was talking about were mainly little things like better bottom end, electronic speedo and aluminum swingarm. |
