hey every one i just wanted to say that I am now apart of the cyclone owners and show off my new toy. and wanted to ask what are some things to know about them. Also i am having mixed fillings about the firebolt front end on it and wondered what every one thought of it?

When you get a chance to take a few pics...get a couple of how the fairing bracket is mounted to your frame.

Putting a Firebolt fairing on a tuber is pretty straight forward. It doesn't directly bolt on but the required hardware is easily fabricated.

Yeah...it's close...mines a '99 with a few addons. I haven't posted a new pic yet...it's now got an inverted fork front end and a forcewinder.

It looks like you've got a different set mirrors, take a couple pics of them as well. What handlebars do you have on her? I'm running crossroads but have been thinking of getting a little higher set.

i was thinking going with the inverted forks also, which ones work better on it the ones off of an s1, x1, s3 or are they all 3 the same?

I think I've got a set off an S3. I'll have to take another look to be sure. There are slight differences but don't know of any performance difference. It's also an easy swap, the triples are a direct exchange.

X1 and late S3 (99 or later) are the better forks (the Showas, not the WPs). They are rebound and compression adjustible on each leg instead of compression on one and rebound on the other like the S1 forks.

XB Showas will also fit tubers. I don't know what is involved exactly, but if you want the ZTL brake, that would be the way to go.

Personally, I dont dig the fairing, but then again....it aint my bike!
If you like it, thats all that matters.
I think that removing the flyscreen and replacing the single headlight with a double setup is the effin' hotness.
Gives it that hooligan streetfighter look.
Congrats on acquiring one of the best bikes ever built (ask Court!)

I'm diggin' that catch-can. It's out in the open, but out of the way... looks like it blocks some of the rear cylinder heat too.

Coolness!

Donald
The rear shock should be on the list of thinks to replace. If you upgrade to inverted forks or not add valving, spring rate and seals to the list of things you want to do. Being a 2000 I think you have the upgraded primary chain tensioner and swing arm insulators. Check your front engine isolator and mounting bolts. Lindall gold pads up front are a plus. Check with the CV guys and see what their recommendation for carburetor setup. Check your intake seals for leaks. Inspect your plug wires for abrasion with structure. Learn the best method to check your oil. Check out an after market muffler. I like the Vance & Hines SS2r because it is conservative flows a little better and is much lighter. Love the Firebolt fairing. Would love to see pictures of the assembly and how it was done.

here is a picture of the bracket holding the xb faring, it is just to square plates with holes drilled in them to match the faring bracket to the frame were the two holes are, for the s3 faring.

Where does one get a bungie web luggage holder-downer- thingie that will fit an M2 just like your pic?
I am a student and wearing my backpack is uncomfortable. Also, any ideas on a helmet lock (seat) solution like Buell built in on the X1s?

Thanks!

mtn

that's a helmet net, held on under the seat

later M2s came with 4 fabric loops which peek out under the seat to grab hooks

both pieces are a cheap & EZ update
