Wilson, No that's not mine. I found the photo here on Badweb. I'm trying to figure out how the Stenzel bar actually helps. Originally I thought it attached at the hard point on the frame, which I could see helping the front isolator by restricting the fore and aft movement of the bolt in the front isolator. The attach point shown in the photo would not do that IMHO. That attach point is moving with the engine, right along with the front isolator attach point to the engine. So, I'm seeking clarity on how this improves things with the front isolator.

If I understood the guy from there correctly. If he has a bunch of parts for his Olds 455 shipped to my place, and then I ship them all at once to him in one shipment, he said he'll ship me one of these.

So, I am going to make sure I understood him correctly, as all I'll be doing is storing and packing all the stuff, and he'll be paying the shipping.

LOL! Now, don't go emailing him and cutting me off...I kid...I know you guys are better than that!

Maybe we can work something out where you guys send me money to pay for whatever shipping, blah blah blah...and he'll send more.

I'll wait for his next response.

just my best guess is that the Stenzel bar tyes the top of the motor mount to the bottom .
giving the iso mount support that will cut down on the effect that the harmonics have on the mount

I've ordered 3 of those bars from Stenzel.

Will report back how they perform.

Wilson, when do you expect to have them?

Are they all sold?

I did the first service on my S3T this weekend and at 4K miles the front isolator has failed. Went to the dealer today and they had to order the isolator. Looks like I'll only be riding the XB12R for the next week.

Here's my favorite new Badweb quote.

"I love riding this bike and like the way the chassis is engineered but it sure is an attention w h o r e for garage time."

I have one of these bars. If you are wondering how it works, it solid mounts the top of the front motor mount to the engine. The bottom is already hard mounted to the engine, by mounting the top solidly to the engine you reduce the stress of the mount wanting to rock, while it is still free to move within the isolater since the bar has no connection to the frame itself.

Loren, Skntpig...

I only ordered enough for those who paid. It will be about $85 for you guys a piece if you order. We got a bit of a discount for ordering multiple...

Just email the address Ralph posted and wait a few days for the reply. His English is pretty good, and hoping to get it soon. Sorry you guys didn't hop on! I gave it a few days, and figured no one was interested besides those who contacted me.

Sure dimensions would save me some time.

Heck, I've watch American Chopper a couple of times...this stuff is a cake walk. LOL

I actually didn't know I needed one! When I picked the bike up two weeks ago it had 2400 miles on it and I check the isolator and it looks okay. I have a little over 4000 on it know and the isolator is split around the full circumference on the lower side. I guess it was bad karma to even get involved in an isolator dicussion....excuse me while I go knock on wood and throw some salt over my shoulder.

No, I have enough going on without taking on other peoples projects. Besides I would rather teach someone else how to fish than fish for them. I'll post up a DIY method when I done.

A shop drawing from any one would be great even of it is crude. Just the dimensions and angles. It can't be that hard to make

Yeah thats about right, you have to mill out the isolator end as per the D washer. And then put a bend in it so that when it's fitted there is no tension on it. I just mounted the front bolt then lowered the jack to see how much i needed to bend it. I then remove it and would then bend it in my press and try agagin until it was right. I don't have mine bent like the Stenzel, my bends more in the middle and then a little kick up at the stabilizer bar end.

Butch, I did the same thing on Wed. night. I haven't had time to post up photos though. I think mine has more vibes too at the lower rpm's. I really don't like that!

I used a Buell isolator. I used a couple of 2" O.D. washers with a 1" I.D. to act as the counter bore under the brace at the isolator. I did order some .375" x 2" stock to make a brace with a counter bore so I can do away with the washers. I also think I need to make some fine adjustments so the install is completely "tension free" when the engine load is off the front isolator. My install the other night may have had just a wee bit.
