Does any on have the clip on style handle bars, Or the billet handle bars featured on american sportbike. Which is the best option. and What about the 2+ shifter kit that has the bar that that connects the shifter at the top of the case and rider and passenger peg are a single bracket.

If anyone has these style handle bars would you post a picture please. I am going to buy this 2+ rear sets kit and was hoping to see handlebars installed to gauge the aggressiveness of the riding position, As i like the more aggressive lower position. I constantly find myself in a lowered tucked position while riding.

(click thumbs for a larger pic)
I have the 1up version of those rear sets...

And, I think these are the bars you are referring to...

To answer your question.. yes, I love them.

I am 5'8, and everything is just perfect. The position, is nice and tucked, w/o being uncomfortable. Allowed me to take a different route with the looks as well...

That looks nice. Are those the rear sets i see there. Thats it sweet I don't want to lose the passenger pegs so im gonna buy the 2+ rear set kit, Im just not sure if i want the clip on bars or the ones you have, The billet set, Im just not sure about the plate the billet bars are on. If i go with the clip ons they are just bars and fork tube clamps.

Well, this is the second set of crossroads bars I have had. the first set was jacked up in a rough get off... the center plate was tweaked just ever so slightly, so, I elected to replace it...

And those are the same rear sets you see I believe, minus the 2 up...

Russ,

I've got the Crossroads bars Al retails and like them a lot, I bought some Vortex clip ons years ago and they were way too low.

I'm in Salt Lake so we could meet up some time and you can check them out. I've been experimenting with bars since I bought my bike in 2001, thus far these are my favorites.

Unless you do a lot of push-ups or plan on making your bike a track only vehicle I'd steer clear of the true clip ons. Scotty in the Salt Lake store has a 88" X1 that's got those on it, but it is a track only bike. I've got some pics of it somewhere...

Chase,

Those look like the Tourmaster Clubman bars?

I've got a set in chrome I've been intending to put on ebay, they felt perfect while sitting on the bike but once I started riding aggressively they began to feel awkward, my seat height and footpegs are placed differently than yours though so I'm sure it's all relative.

You can see how low the bars are, they have to go below the upper triple clamp.

Yeah, in the first pic I posted, those are different bars than are currently on there. That was the only shot I had of the left side of the bike. They are K&N Clubman Bars, turned up side down(they were too narrow to fit right on the wide triple)....

I LOVE the cowl on your buddies tail section..

Wish I could tell you where it came from. The bike looks killer in the flesh, he's racing an XB now. We aren't tight but he's a good dude, if I see him I can ask about it for you.

Al said the same thing if its a track bike fine but if its not. He said he has never heard of anyone liking them after buying them!

I like the lowered look but i also like those clip ons that go straight out versus 7 degree slope.

hey chase
did you have the clip on plate anodized or does it come that way?

No, thats powder coated black. I was going to polish it, just havent gotten around to it yet.

It comes in a brushed finish, so, you can clean it and paint it, powder, polish, or anodize...

I just installed the 2+ rearsets on my x1. The install instructions are very vague, at least for me they were (hand drawn diagram not very detailed). Its a huge pain in the arse to get the hard brake line out from under the oil tank so you can get the clearance to mount the mastercylinder. Be prepared for some cussing and WTF moments. I will say, that once I was done they were extremely comfortable. I'll probably replace that hard line with a braided one this winter. I also had to drill the threads out of the mastercylinder mounting holes so the bolts would go all the way through and seat properly. They look great installed and are comfortable, but Just want to give you a heads up. Good luck!

I just got the Vortex Clip-Ons a few weeks ago, and i think they're great. It took a few days to get used to how low they are. Being attached directly to the fork the bike seems a hell of a lot more stable and they also got rid of my higher speed wobble.

The only reason bars would affect "wobble", is it changed your posture enough to affect HOW you hold the bars.

A lot of things can contribute to wobble, the number 1 being the rider. The second, is front tire wear, and it goes on down the list. BUT, that isnt part of this discussion...

Lots of thanks to LITTLEBUGGLES-MIKE.

This guys is great he brought out some handlebars in the rain, He wasn't riding. But he didn't even charge me for them!!

So i gave him a stellar price on tires for his car!

I will post pics of the bars before i put them on, And after i put them on.

These bars are defiantly one of a kind.

So once again...THANKS MIKE , You saved me some coin now i can spend it on other mods i wanted, And i dont have to save up }}

No problem Russ.

Chase and Dave,

The true clip on bars are a very forward position, there is no way to use them without putting more weight on the front tire, which will stabilize the bike under speed.

(In the rider course we teach students to slow down or put more weight on the front of the bike if they begin to experience a wobble at speed, works for me.)

I put the crossroad aluminum bars on 8 years ago on my X1 ahttp://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A9074.htmlnd they are Perfect!! Not too low Not too high. High speed wobble? Slide your butt back on the seat. It'll go away.

Oh yeah, if you flip them they will feel just like the clip ons. that is really low, hard on the wrists, and having a tendency to bump into the rest of your bike

'Course if you've spent a lot of time on the rice rockets you may already be used to that.

Yep, I had a set of those, only in black. BUT, the center was too narrow to be used RIGHT....

SO, I ran them upside down, and they looked sorta like Z bars...
