I've been wondering. What with the small oil bag on the Cyclone and no oil cooler....has anybody ever thought of putting a machined aluminum spacer between the oil filter and the filter mount? By the size of the filter I'm running it looks like a 4-6 inch ribbed spacer would add capacity and cooling. Flame away.

How about just installing an oil cooler? More oil capacity, installs quick and easy, looks kool!

Wow. #1, I'm way off with my guess of 4-6 inches. I went out back and measured after I posted, 3.5 in. max.
#2, that's so cool (no pun intended) that somebody already makes it
#3, have been contemplating an oil cooler for a while

Thanks guys

I installed mine when I rebuilt the motor a couple of months ago. These oil coolers are obsolete, but they can be found with some looking. Its a 2003 and earlier Sportster oil cooler. Bolts right on, no issues at all.

Obsolete? That's a bummer. Anybody have any first hand experience with other coolers?

Ok this is a little off topic, but in picture #1 as your looking at the V&H can and system, see the pipe that goes from the end of the header and curves around to slip into the can? Where can I find a replacement? I know its V&H but its post production, ie. discontinued, for the up to 98 models, which mine happens to be a 98 M2. Any ideas ?
