I went for an 80 mile spin thru the woods on some local roads yesterday and my ass hurt bad on my s1 seat i have a standard s1 seat from a 97 i believe, the one that has a strap across it.

I am big but not fat 6'-6" 220 lbs and my boney ass was non compliant with the stock equipment.

I ran a search but didnt turn up the type of info that i had hoped to find,it seams my options are 1, a euro stock seat 2, a buell select 3,a corbin 4, gel added to my stocker..

What is tried and true? any input is needed, i cant use this one much longer,

I'm 6'4" and (usually) 195. I can feel fiberglass tail section through the Euro solo seat on my S1W. Granted, I don't have much built-in padding...but not much weight, either.

I told you so Blake! Ha ha!

I put a gel insert in my seat and it has not helped much.
I'm ordering a corbin very soon.
I hope it will help....

Your Ass gets used to it. I ride at least 60 miles/day. I'm 6' 185, my ass just got used to it after the first week. That Corbin seat does look good tho, a lil pricey tho at 390$, i think.

The theory is, if your ass is on the seat, you're riding it wrong.

I don't mind my S1W seat, but I can see how a seat the size of a maxi-pad could get old.

I cut away the front and scooped the back out on my stock S1 seat, leveled the seat out (this gives you a slightly wider plank too) so I can sit further back, doesn't push on the boys so much too.

Haven't had the gel put in, I think I may some day. Custom cutting seems to have worked out pretty okay for me though. Local upholstery shop re-covered it for me.

The strange thing about the X1 is that the seat IS comfortable! Better than My Vstar 1100 which I scrapped out the seat for a Mustang...much better!

Here's some pictures of the Gel insert. I just followed the instructions on the web site.

I love the fact that it was done so nicely that it looks like it could have come from the factory like that

Blake, I warned you about the seat!
There's a reason they call them "thongs"!
I'm going to do the gel pad trick on my S2 this winter.

If you don't want to do it yourself, try amsss1@americanasoftseats.com . He will replace your seat filling with Gel & memory foam or reshape it so it doesn't not keep your boys jammed against the back of the tank

Wow.... that's the first XB/tuber I've ever seen! Very cool.. the Buell that should have been built. : )

As for seats... I have a Corbin seat and it's very firm. I wear riding pants with padding to get around the comfort issue. Both would be ideal.
