1997 S3 Buell Trike in the stock White Gold. (A Pearl White with Gold metal flake.) It's a Kit from http://FRANKENSTEINTRIKES.com http://mcworx.com/FShome.html  Is this cool or what?!?! My wife loves it. Handles straight and true to over 100MPH.  Here is the axle end.  NOTE: this bike has also been lowered @ the rear.  Send in your swing-arm, and they cut and weld on the bracket. | ||

Frank Pederson's shop is about twenty minutes up the road from me. He builds some pretty wild stuff. What width did you get? he offers many. Lane Machine Works in Claycomo Mo. machines the differential housings,carriers,axles,etc. Frank builds quality bikes and components, their just kinda pricey. | ||

This is the 34" Sport Standard Axle. The only one available for the Buell's. I don't think this was pricey as I checked the alternatives. Top quality parts! Big truck bearings and truck size axles. Not into trikes, but that one is cool. The S3 bodywork works good with the rear fenders. | ||

If you want a trike, buy a friggin' car. At least then you don't get rained on. Trike=all the drawbacks of cars and bikes, with none of the exclusive benefits of either. | ||

In this case I have to agree with the Bird, a sportster would have ben a better choice for this conversion. That S3 was a beauty unlike the stripped down version of the 00X1 which I used as a basis for my Redneck project. But as I've said before "it's there machine to do with as they wish", IMO wrong bike,wrong conversion | ||

I like it. It is classy and it looks like it was put together in a way that down the line somebody could return it to stock if they chose to. It also retains the Buell heritage (unlike the Redneck heart transplants). | ||

Looking at the rearend, it's a bolt-on, bolt-off affair. I like it. I'm not partial to trikes...but my accident has really driven it home to me that I'll trike before I give up. Fortunately (at least this time around) I should be able to get back to riding 2 wheelers, hopefully before new years...but when the time comes? I don't wanna give it up, and I can't ride a quad on the street  Definitely less invasive than many kits I've seen. No cutting, welding, guessing...looks like a solid deal. Very nice. | ||

If the swingarm is modified the it's just the back-half which must be replaced to bring it back to O/E. It's just that there are other bikes, more docile for this configuration, than a high horsepower sport bike. And the "gutting" for the redneck is only because of the high horsepower engine and tranny package that it makes sense. I feel you purists who want to save these machines in there original form, and my "gutting" was actually a mercifull finish to a good life. This IS pretty, but not what I would do to a clean S3, and can you imagine what a wheelie monster this is! | ||

I expected some of the above comments. No drag to speak of. Still does over 120MPH. VERY stable at all speeds. The swing arm was the only modification. It can be put back to stock with a swing arm replacement. You must see this in person to realize just how beautiful it is and what a classic look it has. It looks like a factory job. I don't think Eric would be offended. He wants is to ride his bikes. Ho yeah... A trike is NOT a bike. When you ride one you find that out right away, as I did. It is a unique ride. | ||

Oh Yeah!! The swing arm is extended by three inches so wheelies are not an issue. It pulls just as hard as it did with two wheels. Credit to Eric and Frank for producing solid machines and axle kits. | ||

Hey Jos15700000...When was the last time you couldn't walk or hold a bike up and still rode? Do you know anyone personally who rides a trike from necessity? Why do you have to crank on everyone that doesn't have a P3 and a master tecker patch? Has anyone else noticed that Jos is always negative no matter what the subject? WTF. I have been biting my tounge for a long time reading your crap. Go ahead and flame me if you want (and I expect it). I try not to post unless I think it will help someone, and have learned quite a bit from here, and hopefully occasionally return the favor.
