Well i scored big, i found a local buell racer that had a left over rotor for my bike, Mine was warped. He used to have a cyclone and it got ruined before he mounted this bad boy, brand new for 60 bucks. EBC pro lite. now i have to paint the tank and flyscreen. enjoy

BRAD bluzm2 this is what was on the back of my brake pads.

Blake,
That's looking REAL good!
If you have any questions when after you talk to Tony, give me a call.
It's should be pretty straight forward.
Spidey, did you use relays?

So, I was wondering, how hard is it to tear a tuber down to the frame and rebuild it? I have pretty dang good mechanical skills and all from working on helicopters in the Marines. Im coming home from Iraq in less than two weeks and I need a winter project... Thanks!

It's a piece of piss! Tube frame Buell's have to be the easiest bikes to work on: )

Yeah, Ive done things like wrapping my pipes and brake pads and oil changes, but that is as far as I have gotten. I think the only part that would give me the fits would be spreading the frame to get the drivetrain off those isolators. Is it as daunting a task as it seems?

There's no need to spread the frame to get the isolators out, once you have all the bolts etc out you just lift the frame off the engine swingarm assembly.

Like I said a piece of piss; )

Theres the look of a lot of details in that job Blake, and I really like the color of your cases(my X1 is all black)against whatever color you plan on squirting on it...what color would that be if not the burnished gold/red,which by the way picks up light very nicely.

so what were all those threads about spreading the frame for the isolators? Is that just for removal of them with the frame still attached to the engine? Thanks!

that frame spreader crap is for the birds, when doing a teardown/reassemble your best bet is to do the A T C method, search it, its what i did. JSTFRFUN its going to be all black, best looking color on a clean bike. my cases will be powdercoated black next winter.

No need to spread to get the iso's out. Just make sure the front mount is loose with no oil filter and lift off. I rebuilt my bike with no notes, or pictures after it was apart for over a year. At one time there weren't two parts touching each other. Good luck and have fun. I did get good at searching THIS Site!

I sent the tank to paint on tuesday he said early next week, it will be ready to rock and roll.

Question to n e 1 who knows, is there any special tips to remove the big rusty stock front pulley to mount my baker lightweight 26 tooth unit?
i have never had one off? it looks like a 1 7/8, use impact gun, heat? i assume the trans has bearings right behind it.... so no pounding? i just dont wanna mess it up now.

huh no comments on the lil tank in the bike yet.....

more pics very soon!!!

Blake I have one of those 26T pulley's from Baker myself. I just used a rattle gun whilst the belt was still on to hold it, remembering that the nut is left hand threaded. You should not need any heat on it, plus there is a seal behind there that may not like it either! Why are you going so low on the gearing? I only had to use that pulley because of my extended wheel base, I'm running a 55T rear pulley. Use some red loctite when you put it back together too as they can come loose.

Cheers
Jodie
